Don't look at that crane laying on top of the building that might fall at any moment.

Well it won’t happen tomorrow. They have been documenting from the very beginning. OSHA has been crawling all over the building as well as engineers. Once they feel they have enough it will be removed.

You think that steel column on that roof is one continuous steel piece to the concrete foundation?
I just came in to laugh at all the people just throwing terms out like they know what they are talking about.
ETA if y'all armchair engineers what to get technical, the crane is "anchored" to the building foundation. Follow the load path and it ends where all the loads end, the building foundation.

That column may span two floors. It does not anchor to the foundation.

There were crane foundation plans filed with all the other structural plans. Things I never really thought about when seeing these buildings go up.
Imagine those crane foundations will likely never be acceptable again either.

Is there a link in this thread showing the attempt of the crane demo? I’ve tried to keep up but haven’t been able to.

At around 43 seconds in the bottom right of this video, you can see someone riding around on a bicycle and two separate people run after them.

Wow... Did the top of the first crane just impaled itself into the street?
How much do one of those cranes cost? A few thousand $$ bucks at least... right?

Sometimes you can find one on Craigslist or Ebay for $900 or so, but yea typically a few thousand.
