A city employee who probably couldn’t find gainful employment elsewhere declaring a $50,000 termite infested shotgun house a danger =\= a multimillion dollar property owned by people with more lawyers than god

“Mr city employee can you give us your eveidence as to why this building must be destroyed?”

“Well your honor, Iba donba knoba”

What’s your point?

I said the city has the authority to order demo and they do.

People are trying to see the debris up close and personal.

You would think if they wanted to see some trash they would just go out into the East but I guess they wouldn’t be interviewed by the news.

Oh I know.

The funny part is that if LaToya came out and said that she hopes that they can salvage what's left and repair the damage he'd be melting about her NOT ordering the demo pursuant to the statutes posted above.

let me make it simple
they cannot proceed without a permit which the city will quickly rescind if they haven’t done so already.

that’s it, full stop on the project. They’ll then declare it a hazard and demand immediate demo. There will have to be a permit for that as well

Because the city council wasn’t bought the first time?

Hell half of them probably have skim in the game through subcontracts or material orders.

You said she can’t make that determination and you’re wrong.

She can say whatever she wants but it’s not her final call

That’s not this works.

Just say you didn’t realize the city had the authority to order the demo.

His Modus Operandi. It's all he does. I was reading and howling at the Oweo q and a this morning and he got owned by Oweo in that!

Resorted to unfulfilled promises and 7th grade threats. Pathetic.

So the Mayor has the authority to declare a property to be demolished on live TV, on the spot without any sort of legal process?

Man, it must be nice to be a mayor.

I don’t like your business, I’m going to tear it down.

What's your legal argument for the city being unable to declare a partially collapsed and unstable building as a hazard that must be demo'd?

Please cite your statutes and case law. Thanks.

I’d imagine if the builder wanted to finance a review there’d be some back and forth potentially. I do doubt she’s saying it just for fun and it’s based on initial reports from engineers though - so the bankrupt firm would probably have a hard time mounting a strong defense to that

There’s a process. The city inspectors make a determination if its an unsafe structure. That’s the process.
