I don't do personal attacks on TD, but I got to say that you are a real imbecile.

The city can do what you’re saying I guess but good luck fighting the lawyers that represent these developers, Hard Rock and GC.

I doubt Hard Rock fights this at all... they aren't going to want to be associated with a building with this history.

And Citadel would have to be able to pay attorneys to fight it.

At least in the thread from last night he admitted he was drunk. This is absolutely embarrassing.

If the city condemns it they can. The council would rubber stamp the order to demo.

I don't see how they could salvage it even if they wanted to. The work to remove the damaged structure, as well as the remnants of the cranes, would be super invasive. We have no idea how much of the standing structure is damaged or even sound.

The explosive charges to bring down the Canal St. crane were pretty deep inside the standing part of the hotel on that side, the counterweights for both cranes fell on the standing structure, there's a 100,000 lb crane sitting on the damn roof, OUR PETS HEADS ARE FALLING OFF, and so many more problems. Nobody will want to stay somewhere that was half-collapsed either way.

They're just gonna implode it and wipe their hands of it. Too much work and even more money to fix it.

I’m not disagreeing with you. As I think it will as well.

But the Mayor can’t just get on live TV minutes after they failed to take down the cranes and proclaim the property will be demolished without any due process. She doesn’t have that sole authority

Even if somehow they fought and kept it from being condemned they somehow have to then get the city to approve plans to build on top. And get the VCC approval.

Nothing is happening with that property that the city doesn't want to happen.

Only an idiot would think that is what was meant.

She said it will be demolished means that it will be demolished.

Let’s not forget that many city vendors have supplied goods and services to the project. Powerful City vendors with relationships to the mayor and city council and that real estate is their only collateral. I’m not saying if the building won’t come down but it won’t be because the mayor said so.

Savage. Doubt fightin tiger can come back from that.

I'll leave for a month if she said, "will be demolished without any due process", like you claim.

I was replying to his description of events, if I missed something it was because of his lack of details.

She can say it will be demolished the same way she can say that I will be looking at a ticket and hefty fine if I was caught doing 90 down Canal.

That doesn't mean that everybody involved doesn't have rights to contest this and maybe with "high priced salivating lawyers" they pull a rabbit out of their arse.

1) You said she was stupid to even say it when it is clearly within her purview to make that call.

2) What makes you think anybody really wants to contest a quick demo? There's doesn't look to be a whole hell of a lot salvageable and it's not like Hard Rock is going to be in a hurry to rebuild. They would probably demolish the building tonight, if they could and get that building off the front page of every news webpage in the country.
