Except it directly affects the NBA (perhaps should clarify to say that it had/has extreme potential to affect the NBA beyond what this has already), which affects a significant sport in American entertainment.

Granted, part of this is further focused on due to Blizzard straight up bending the knee to China in the last few days, and thus the focus on the topic as a whole has been amplified.

You dont see how a potentially large decrease in projected league revenues might have an impact on the league?

If China cut off the NBA it was going to cause a 15% or more decrease in the NBA salary cap. That's kind of a big deal to the league.
