The consensus was the line would be -10 Auburn and they'll win by a couple TD's. The line in reality opened at Auburn as 2.5 favorites and has only moved to -3. Im wondering how handicappers of Tiger Rant could be off by a full touchdown and also what you're prediction is in considering the real line

Technically you are “wrong”

In actuality the line opened up a long time ago with the Gators being favored by at least 3 pts if my memory serves me correctly, it might have been more.

I think the only reason the line is so small is because it's in the swamp. Auburn should win this by 10 easy. But the swamp (as we at LSU know) can make things interesting.

If I only have to lay 2.5 or 3, I'm taking the Barn.

Auburn is highly overrated by the rant and the “expert” talking heads right now but Vegas cannot be fooled.

Auburn has a great d line. That’s it. Their secondary is ok and they have a true freshman QB. They are getting a lot of love for beating A&M which at the time was an upset but A&M isn’t very good and as the season goes on that win will not look as good. They do have the best resume in the country right now because of the Oregon and A&M wins but I think they are going to come back to earth when they play LSU/Georgia/Bama.

Not extremely, you are absolutely incorrect in that statement.

They are a 9-3 type team.

The issue is that both QBs have a sub 10 QBR when pressured. And both teams have outstanding front 7's.
Could be a competition on which an could be less terrible when rushed.

IMO:

Florida edge rushers will make the freshman QB's life miserable tomorrow. If there's one thing the Gators are REALLY good at it's pressuring a QB. They might be the best in the SEC. That's a recipe for a tough game in the swamp for Malzahn's offense, and I think Auburn is a press clippings type of team that will get punched in the mouth tomorrow. Once they start doubting how good they thought they were in the swamp, they may get beat like LSU did last year despite maybe being the better team on paper. If Auburn wins, it'll be close, and likely low scoring unless defense/special teams touchdowns happen.

I think Florida covers at home if given more than 3 points, and that's probably why Vegas has them there.

I completely agree with this. IMO Flordia and Auburn are very similar to each other. Because of this I think florida will actually come out on top just because they are at home. People are putting way too much into the beating that Auburn gave Mississippi state last week as well

A wise gambler told me that whenever a line doesn't make sense (ex close line while everyone is picking 1 team) there's always a reason

To me auburn looks much better but Vegas likes a matchup somewhere for Florida ..at least seen as a close game
