The world’s largest pork consumer bought 10,211 tonnes of U.S. pork between Aug. 2-8 for shipment in 2019 as a highly contagious swine disease continued to ravage the Chinese hog herd.

Some firms already bought at least 20 cargoes, or about 1.2 million tons, from the U.S. Pacific Northwest on Monday, the people said.
Lets be serious, did anyone think anyone else in the world could suddenly produce tens of millions of pigs to replace the ebola epidemic in china. Or suddenly grow millions of tons of soybeans?
We relax tariffs on dog collars and some computer components (to piss off IB), they buy food.
While their "Wall Street" is clamouring for another tranche of cheap debt, their central bank is balking at another turn at the govt teat, me thinks the well, or teat, is about dry and they know it.

yup. We are #1 at food and its not even close. They cant get it elsewhere.
Also, Thomas Cook went tits up. Why? They couldnt get more money from their Chinese owners. Whats a big problem in China right now that no one is talking about? Liquidity.
Need to do some more digging here but I find it curious they couldnt get that deal to work out.

The Chinese saw the stupidity of punishing their people with tariffs on pork and soybeans.
Maybe they will buy as much as they were before Trump started this fight.
Maybe our government will quit punishing us soon.

Doesnt China own the biggest pig farm in our country?
If I had my way a would also look into foreigners owning our land/companies without question, and not letting us do the same in their country. Total bs

So can we end the $28B farm bailouts that are nearing 3x the auto bailout?

Read something a few months ago saying almost the same thing. Said China was in a tough spot when it comes to soybeans.
The U.S. is the only country who can meet their demands. Brazil is another big producer but their production of soybeans is dwarfed by what America produces.
Brazil on its own, couldn't meet what China wants or needs

Does this mean we can stop with the Farm Subsidies now?
