LSU lost 15 games in those 14 months.

“Most accomplished”. By repeating this mantra endlessly, we will all be able to erase all the evidence gathered by our lying eyes over the years.
Miles is actually a better coach than Saban. IF ONLY we had hired him instead of Saban back in the day. Think how “accomplished” he would be then.

No one has argued Miles was better than Saban but he is more accomplished at LSU, that’s indisputable. The only “evidence” you have is Saban is better and unfortunately for LSU he returned to college at Alabama. If he stays in the NFL, Miles would have at least 1 maybe 2 more titles. Your hatred and criticism of Miles boils down to he isn’t as good as the greatest coach of his era and perhaps all time who happened to be in his division

You have to have a foundation before you build something. Saban provided that.
As much as I hate Alabama, it’s because of its fans, the lopsiding officiating, and the media love fest like they’re impervious to failure.
All in all, I do love their color scheme and I don’t mind Saban.

There it is. Most accomplished, most accomplished, most accomplished. Thanks I got it now.

Sure. It’s not that we are watching ED ORGERON OF ALL PEOPLE modernize LSU’s offense, when Miles refused to do so for all of those years, while making millions of dollars, when every two-bit fan of LSU knew he needed to.
We “hate” Miles because we watched him waste years and years of opportunity for championships and take the fun out of LSU football. Of course you will say that’s our fault, that it wasn’t fun, but that’s bullshite and you people are lying to yourselves about what we all saw.

amazing watching you shite on a former lsu coach whose resume shits on the resume of your deity.
Miles’ resume shits on Saban’s resume? Surely you jest?
Saban: two SEC titles, 1 NC in 5 years.
Miles: two SEC titles, 1 NC in 11 years.
Also, yes facilities matter. Culture matters. Saban improved both by leaps and bounds. Saban left the program in much better shape than he found it and it was rising. Miles did not leave the program in better shape and it was in decline. You mock Saban for his final year yet ignore Miles final full year (3 consecutive blow out losses) and the 2-2 end of his final games.

Why are you so triggered by this? How else should we say it? He’s not better but because he coached here twice as long he was able to accomplish more. The only coach you could argue did more is Deitzel. Only 9 times in LSU history have we finished in the AP top 5 Miles was coach for 3 of them (PD also had 3), i think its now 20 top 10 finishes Miles also has the most of those, we’ve made 5 SEC CG he was coach for 3 and of course won 1 of 3 NC and 2 of 3 BCSCG.

He won a title, played for another and had 2 other seasons (2006 and 2012) where he had a championship caliber team that didn’t get there but lost to Meyer and Saban, you know the 2 best coaches of this era. Holding that against him imo is a tad unfair. It’s also myopic since multiple other teams (USC, Texas, Ohio St) can also claim they “should” have won titles in some of those years.

I get that but you are also conflating the last few years of Miles with his entire tenure. The offense was fine in 2005-2007 and 2013 and even 2011 it wasn’t an issue except for games against Alabama which had a better coach than anyone and an historically great defense. Of course the 1/9/12 game was horrendous and embarrassing but Saban did hold Meyer and Tebow to 13 points in the 2009 SECCG so this idea that if only Miles opened the offense we would have won is just misplaced anger.

take the fun out of LSU football.
That was definitely the case his last couple of years, that’s why he should have been fired after 2015.

It just seems pointless to me. I recognize that it’s in response to the perception that people don’t give Miles any credit at all, but surely we all realize that he accomplished a lot here?
We all saw it.

Good points, I agree.

I won’t quibble over what years we had a good offense. My perception is that Miles never recovered from Jarrett Lee and pick six in 2008.
Fact is Saban left, and we had to hire someone. The guy we hired was disliked from the start by a lot of people, and did a lot of things along the way that, in conjunction with his style of football and his lack of eloquence, reinforced that initial perception.
But he was successful, and it could have been a lot worse after Saban left.

The problem is that ANY time there is a thread with Miles name in it he comes just waiting for someone to say something negative and he gets into defense mode and spends the rest of the tread playing superman for Miles.... I don’t see him doing anything like this for O....

That team finished 4-7 and then went 3-8 the following year. Dinardo and staff had stopped recruiting in ‘99. They weren’t even recruiting Randall Gay and Corey Webster.
Also stop using Miles 10 win seasons as proof of his greatness. In 2006 the NCAA added a 12th game to the regular season.

For a coaching staff to stop recruiting is bullshite and it sucks. Dinardo shouldn't have done that in 1999 and Saban shouldn't have done it in 2004.

Miles Was elected to the La Sports hall of fame over Saban. For what exactly? For destroying LSU’S program really? Guess they let anyone in

so top 5 finishes and win% aren't accomplishments?
Miles has as many top 5 finishes as saban, mac, and dietzel combined.
#1 win % in lsu history isnt an accomplishment right?
miles has more top 5 finishes at lsu as saban has ranked finishes at LSU.
try again
