Rian Johnson Unsure When He’ll Start New ‘Star Wars’ Trilogy, Lucasfilm ‘Figuring Out Schedule’
He says they are trying to figure out when to fit his trilogy in. How about between now and NEVER

From the Article.

Lucasfilm has already dated three “Star Wars” movies for after the release of J.J. Abrams’ “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” this December. The untitled films will open in theaters in December 2022, 2024, and 2026. The 2022 film will be directed by “Game of Thrones” creators D.B. Weiss and David Benioff, but Lucasfilm has not confirmed whether the 2024 or 2026 dates are for Johnson or for Weiss and Benioff’s trilogy.

Let me help you Rian. Those dates are for the Game of Thrones guys!! Your Trilogy will never see the light of day.

I don't understand this recent phenomenon of planning out series of movies in advance (unless they are based on a series of novels). how about trying to make one good movie first and then move on from there.

Really wish Rey would just use force powers to reboot the whole damn thing. No 7, no 8

7 wasn’t that bad.. but 8 made it irrelevant

Exactly. He killed the franchise in part 2 of a trilogy.

The fact that Disney made over $22 billion from the Infinity Saga should be enough explanation.

Are we sure we want D&Ds to see light either?

LINK

I just got around to watching RLM Mr Plinkets review of The Last Jedi and like the prequels I'm glad these movies exist simply to watch Mike's tear downs. Its one of the few movies that after viewing multiple times I find more things to dislike about it.

I will give them some credit and a pass on the GoT final season. It sucked, but the previous ones were really good. I think they were in an impossible position since GRRM has not finished his books. I dont think any ending to GoT was going to make most people happy, everyone wanted their own ending and since they didnt get it they were not happy.

I wanted the Night King to win but I didn't pout on Twitter like others.

I'm about at the point Star Wars could just blow up and never surface again. Every 5 or so years I'll watch part of the first movie and let it be that.

Their biggest frick up was releasing 7,8,9 as individual stories told by each director instead of having a one story arch from beginning to end.

And having Rian Johnson on board of course.

Rian Johnson also thinks TLJ is like Empire. Like it or not, Disney doesn't agree with the M/TV board and will keep making them however they want as long as Star Wars is profitable. And Star Wars will remain profitable.

Star Wars resting its future in the hands of Rian Johnson and D&B. What could go wrong?

Rogue One is the third best Star Wars movie after New Hope and Empire.

Love the darkness of Rogue One!

It also has the baddest sequence of all the Star Wars movies with Vader in the hallway at the end!

Will never happen. All those involved are too ego-maniacal to ever admit it was ever cancelled.

They'll use the whole "busy with other projects" crap indefinitely.

The first 4 were amazing. I'll give credit where it is due...they did a great job with the material they had.

That said, shite fell sooooooo flat when they ran out. The dialogue was shite, the stories were shite, everything just fell off a cliff. There were moments here and there but they aren't good writers at all.
