Pretty sure the Louisiana defamation statute was ruled unconstitutional many years ago.

WWLTV needs to spend a bit more time proofreading their content.

STPSO should be completely disbanded.

The Sheriff was literally a pedophile who bribed his victims with leadership positions, and attempted sexual relations with inmates. Why are we still hearing about this organization in the present tense?

What ever happened to the woman poster who was always updating the old thread? She definitely had a personal connection to the victim, but I don't remember her name or what her relationship to the crime was but she kept the old thread alive for months.

you would think so. I didn't know there was such a thing for criticizing cops. It's like they've never read the 1st amendment.

looks like only outlawed for criticizing elected officials; you would think the sheriff would qualify

Louisiana's defamation statute has been ruled unconstitutional by the state Supreme Court when it's used for speech targeted at elected officials.

You mean Strain? He's not the sheriff anymore.

I know there is weird stuff going on with the lady’s murder and parish officials, but what would an inspector with Inspector General for HUD be investigating or have access to related to murder that he could send to family?
Fraud using or approving HUD funds by HUD employees? They are more internal investigators.

Gingerkittie. That was her name.

I'm answering myself, I just remembered.

Carry on...

Pretty sure this statute has been held to be unconstitutional at least twice.

Are you using an android?

I clicked on the article with an android and only get half the article.

Wife did it with an iphone and there is quite a bit more to the article.

That's why I used the word "was."

The fact that they got rid of a few really bad people does not change my opinion of the STPSO. There are levels of corruption and incompetence that justify starting over: new name, new people, new uniforms. The old ones are too far gone.

Do you even live in St tammany?

They literally have a new sheriff, new people, and new uniforms.

That's part of what the good old boys are complaining about here, that he brought in his own people, got rid of the old ones, changed the uniforms, rebadged all the cars, etc. etc..

I agree. Maybe they should be looking at the person who leaked the information to him.

Y'all leave St. Tammany alone. They have weed dealers AND smokers to contend with. They can't tie up resources with a silly murder investigation that probably involves politically connected people.

I'd extend that to the entire parish government. Seriously, I'm repeatedly amazed at the slimy shite they pull.
