I yelled, reflexively "Demeterius Byrd!".

I poured more alcohol and rubbed it in on my UT neighbors couch!

I was shocked to see us not run a draw play there

I just yelled “YES” with a fist pump

I didn't say go conservative. I said ten yards is your goal. Make those ten yards and you win the game because Texas has to burn it's final timeout and you control the use of the clock. Run or pass and do what you have to do to gain those ten yards. Trying to gain twenty five on that first down attempt was stupid. Scoring that touchdown instead of taking a knee at the five was stupid. Take the knee, BURN the clock, then kick your field goal to take a nine point lead with perhaps, at most, twenty seconds left on the clock and Texas having no timeouts and needing two scores to beat you. Scoring that touchdown gave Texas an opportunity to come back and tie or go for two and win the game. They could possibly have scored their TD earlier and had more time on the clock than 22 seconds. Don't give them the chance to do this. Eat the clock is your BEST choice at this point.

So I worked all day and got home just in time to see opening kickoff. I also had to work Sunday.

That however did not stop me from getting belligerently drunk.

The ole lady went to bed sometime shortly after halftime and was very much asleep by the time 3rd and 17 came along.

I was calm. I was nervous but confident. The pressure started to cave the pocket and I started doubting. “Welp, it was fun while it lasted but we’ve lost another close one”

Then Burrow threw, he got it off, Jefferson made the catch and he’s streaking down the sidelines and I’m somehow on my feet, idk how I got there.

Then Jefferson crosses the goal line. No flags.

I go absolutely batshit. I sprint down the hall bust the bedroom door open and yell “VICTORY!!!!!” As loud as I possibly can.

She yells back “ get the frick out what the frick is wrong with you!”

I go and get another beer and finish watching the game.

Great times.
