How many over the past decade has LSU lost games because EXACT situations like this, not even as long. 3rd and 8, 3rd and 6 and it was obvious from the jump that LSUs plan was hand it off up the middle, punt and try to hold on.

When I saw the ball snapped and formation I was just like "HELL YEAH AT LEAST THEY'RE TRYING TO PUT IT AWAY AND NOT PLAY FOR THE PUNT"
But when the pressure started getting to Joe I was just thinking "JUST BE SMART WITH IT" and honestly the way he threw it, that kinda jumping and throwing i just KNEW he was throwing it away. So i went from "Safe throw out of bounds" to "....WHAT...NO...NO WAY..."

Last year all the hype for the Bama game and people saying "this is our best chance since 2011" I thought we could probably play with them but it felt like we were going in with the same way we always had, hoped for maybe getting an early lead and hoping we can hold on to it with defense. And I also remember thinking going into half down 16 that I didnt see that team coming back.

That 3rd and 17 was so important this year. It feels like in any game, Bama, Florida, A&M etc that even down 14 in the 4th in any of those games, this team can come back. And on the flip side it feels like if they're only ahead by a score or less they're willing to keep their foot on the gas til it's over. That includes the defense that even on a not great night, they made the plays when it counted. LSU had that 3rd and 17 because the defense held them to a FG when it was the most important.

Was sitting when the play started, not sitting when the play ended!! What happened in the middle - who knows! I saw the whole play, but have no idea how or when I went from sitting to up & screaming.

I was visiting my sister in Austin, TX surrounded by Longhorn fans. They were going crazy just before the "play of the game." After we scored my sister got up and gave me a major league high FIVE!!!!! I also kissed my beautiful bride per our custom after every LSU score. Longhorn fans were speechless and stunned. Geaux Tigers! That was Sweet!!!!!!
Geaux Tigers!!!

I was yelling Go Go Go Go

First thought.... Joe Burrow is a beast to pull that off.

Did you jump up?
Yes

high five the people around you?
Yes

May have been a little screaming involved.

Then my 6 year old nephew jumped up 30 seconds later mocking me. I never liked that kid

Honestly the whole possession upset me. I was disappointed that we can no longer pound the ball down the field and finish the game off . Tru story

In the stadium, you could hear a pin drop around me. I was yelling go and everyone around me looked like the oxygen had been all used up. It was surreal. I sat in section 15 of the lower bowl so it was pretty much me and a lady with a baby in the middle of orange.

I was worried. When Joe got sacked I started ranting.

Something like this "Now they'll run a fricking draw, punt it, and Texas will go down and win by 1. Watch. I guarantee you that's how this ends."

*3rd and 17 happens*

I just sat there and laughed maniacally for a good minute as Jefferson took it to the house, team celebrated, and lined up and converted for 2 to go up 14. I guess, it was almost disbelief at what I was watching all night as every time Texas scored to make it close, Burrow and co. would answer immediately on the next drive. As soon as Burrow was sacked to make it 3rd and long, I was damn near resigned to the thought that we were going to lose 38-37 because unfortunately, as O stated, we couldn't stop them. And when they showed McConaughey putting that juju on us as we lined up for 3rd and 17, I knew we were done lol. But I'll be damned, if this ain't a new era in LSU lore and the Burrow for Heisman campaign would jump to the forefront on the next snap and he would step up into oncoming pressure, slide to avoid a leaping attempt to swat the ball from his hands, leap, and find Jefferson darting across the middle to , not only convert, but take it to the house! Bwahahahahaha! I couldn't quite believe it I guess. I wanted that win BAD, and as soon as I began to doubt the Fightin' Tigers, it looked to be a certainty that we were going to leave DKR with a historic, signature win to be remembered and cherished forever. Of course, we'd still ended up having to sweat it out till the very end, but in that moment, I was in hysterics.
