I mean, they aren’t wrong. Historically black colleges were loaded with talent before but now they are not.
It’s better for the athletes because the colleges they are going to now have the money to give them better facilities where as if it was still segregated, I don’t care how many 5 star players they have, schools like Jackson State or Grambling were never going to have the money for facilities like Bama, LSU, Ohio State, etc...

Again, My response was about who is benefiting the most from Affirmative Action. I was not trying to tell you what you have experienced.

Didn't weigh in on how old I thought you were, but your Boomer internet speak is precious. You're too busy being a smartypants to read carefully.

The same folks who keep saying espn is just bringing facts don’t seem interested in acknowledging affirmative action and the systemic racism it perpetuates.
Seems to me that when a company is forced to hire someone of a certain color even if a more qualified candidate exists of another race, that would be the very definition of racism.
This is not to mention the countless free dollars available only to select ethnic groups who wish to pursue higher education. Those same groups may also receive money from the “general” fund open to everyone as well. The reverse is not true.
Ethnic pride for some is a sign of pride in who they are while others are called hate groups.
Television networks can openly name themselves according to their targeted demographic only in certain cases while any attempt for some would never fly.
There is a miss America contest for all then there are miss America contests only open to select ethnic groups.
Tell me again about this racism that exists in today’s America....

It’s a one way anti white privilege argument being made in the article.
The SEC schools aren’t forcing top shelf black athletes to go to their football factories ....they are being made an offer and voluntarily accepting these offers to play at LSU, Alabama, etc. versus Grambling, Florida A&M, etc.
Better offers, better facilities and more exposure. Money and opportunity.....

That may be true but football nowadays is not to the detriment of black men. It is actually a way out of bad situations for some of those guys and turns them into millionaires.
Almost 70% of the NFL consists of black men, so there is no conspiracy or oppressive efforts against them. Some might say they are using them to win/promote their team brand/build wealth and that may be true but the players (all of them of every race ) are being paid really well and they know the nature of the game is violent and that's the price you pay to achieve greatness/fame/wealth, whatever your goals are.

I watched it last night. It was terrible. The entire thing was about how racist the system is.
First, blacks were excluded. But then.... they were included, but that hurt HBCUs. I’m not sure what ESPN wants the outcome to be.
I wish I hadn’t even watched it.

I like The Flag next to your name, but your comment is a false.
1. Kids get an education and hopefully a degree.
2. Kids get training for the NFL. So basically 2 life options after college... NFL or use their degree.
3. The money made by the Not for Profit school, is dumped back into the school, athletics, scholarships, etc.
4. Kids have access to amenities that an Egyptian Pharoah would be jealous of.
And to top it off, these kids have a choice. They dont have to play football if they dont want to.

You obviously have no concept of American history and how racism shaped it. To claim racism against blacks for creating organizations because racism excluded them from others is pure madness. To call blacks racists is out of the playbook of white racists. Yet history says blacks have always sought integration and have always fully supported white businesses and white organizations when they were allowed.
A racist is the one who fights against integration and shun businesses of the other race. Blacks do not have a history of racism against whites. The history of black people in American has been a fight to be treated equally, amazingly to be accepted by whites and to have a seat at the table. To the racist that has always been too much to ask.
Affirmative action came about because, left to individual discretion, blacks have been denied access to jobs and business opportunities. So affirmative action said blacks should receive opportunities based on their population percentage (generally 10%). That’s 1 in 10 jobs. Before AA, it was 0 in 10 jobs. Zero business opportunities from the billions spent by governmental agencies, even though blacks pay the taxes spent by those agencies. So of course the racist and historically challenged is against blacks getting even 1 out of 10 jobs. He wants it like it always had been 0 out of 10 jobs. So to the racist it is an easy step to claim the black who got that one job was less qualified. Because, you know, blacks are less intelligent in the white racist world. They were not concerned about the more qualified blacks when it was 0 out of 10 jobs.
Racism is amazing to me. I was raised in a home that didn’t teach hatred of anyone. We were taught to value all humans. That we were no better than anyone. And on the flip side, no one was better than us. For racism to exist and thrive it takes parents teaching innocent children to hate others because of race. And that they are superior to others simply because of race. When and if the human race ever reach its highest plateau, racism will be viewed as the most grievous sin perpetrated against the human race. Racism is based on ignorance and an evil and hateful soul.

Bear Bryant introduced the black athlete to the SEC after getting whipped by USC and John Mckay.
Another thing the documentary, and waaay too many of you get wrong is that Bear Bryant DID NOT integrate the SEC. There were eight black americans signed on to play in the SEC at seven different schools before Bear Bryant chose to... beginning FOUR years prior to Bears signing.
The schools were; Kentucky, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida, Mississippi State, and Vandy
Players; Nat Northington, Lester McClain, James Owens, Leonard George, Willie Jackson, Robert Bell, Frank Dowsing, and James Hurley
As a matter of fact, by the time Bear signed John Mitchell and Wilbur Jackson every other school, minus Ole Miss, were recruiting and signing black players.

How the hell does a military background prove that youre open-minded? There are some old jarheads that are redneck bigots; there's people who've never been in the military that are as open minded as can be...
Only thing you proved is that you're one of those types of vets who plays the "I'm a vet" card every chance he gets to bring it up because he thinks it'll get him slack, favors, admiration, privileges.
