They will recycle a lot if it.
Plenty of locals will scavenge the debris to build fresh shacks.

Anyone in Savannah? How’s it there?
I evac'd, but I live about 10miles inland.
I still have power at the house(WiFi camera still working). Few tress down that knocked out some power in the city. Otherwise my neighborhood page is a bunch of posts of the beautiful sunset, lots of cocktail drinks, and some pics of the high tide.

Thankfully Dorian was a big nothing burger in NE FL today. Just a breezy wet day. Good luck to those in the Carolinas.

I would think the trash will be dumped in the ocean.
It is +/-14,000 feet deep around a mile offshore. The really shitty stuff is leaking into the water now.The hard debris dumped at sea will be like the reef projects that we PAY for now. No big deal, and even if it was , they are still going to dump it out there.

Believe it or not but the US receives quite a bit of recyclables from overseas. That’s not the issue.
What the hell will they do with all the non recyclables. The trash and debris and toxins etc.
I assume they will just make a land fill and burry and burn it.

That pic should read-
"Before Dorian" and "During Dorian".
All of the water covering parts of the island were while the eye was over it, storm surging the shite out of it. The images are not photographic, they are generated by sonar waves that move through rain/clouds etc, then a computer generates a picture.
The "After Dorian" in reality has the Island still wholly intact. Many structures destroyed, apocolyptic, but the island is still there. Your meme is fake news.

This thing looks pretty good on radar. That’s a ton of rain with wind packed in there that’s off the coast. It would be a tough night if that was making landfall.
Absolutely. Recon in there now has pulled a 98 kt surface estimate that wasn't flagged and a 99 kt that was. Flight level winds are there. Hurricane center might bring Dorian back to Cat 3 at 10 pm. The core does look the part on radar.
The 18z Euro continues a bad trend of shifting west. Brushes Wilmington and direct hit near Morehead City as a likely low end Category 3. Would bring a hell of a storm surge in there. Ends up being west of the outer banks, which would be devastating.
Assuming the NHC keeping just offshore is right, still going to be a rough day and night along the coast.

I’m praying people listened to their local experts, NHC and TWC and headed the warnings of the local and State officials to evacuate.
This wasn’t the storm you wanted to let your guard down on based off of Facebook shares from amateur weathermen.

I evacuated about 30 miles from coast, no wind, no rain.
My neighborhood, which borders intercoastal waterway, had some wind, some areas lost power for about 15 minutes.

What does flagged and not flagged mean?
Posted on 9/4/19 at 8:35 pm to TigerstuckinMS
Flagged means there is a problem with the data. Not flagged means it’s legit . Basically a flagged measurement won’t be used in for wind speeds

Flagged as suspect. The non-flagged means it was likely a good reading.
ETA:
953 and 954 center the last two passes. Steady pressure drop tonight.
