In the market for a Polaris Ranger

Currently in the market to purchase a new or slightly used Polaris Ranger 900. Anyone have any recommendations of a dealership to contact. I am willing to drive a good distance for a good deal.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Only a 2 hour drive away from the house. I hunt just outside of Hazelhurst so I pass through it all the time.

I’m in the same boat and if I go with Polaris, it’ll likely be a 1000. Apparently, Polaris beefed up a lot of components that kept the 900 in the shop. They are currently phasing out the 900 as well. FYI.

Just wen though this last month. Went back and forth with a Polaris Ranger and Can Am Defender.
Watched tons of videos and read plenty of reviews.
Ended up getting a Can Am Defender XT HD8 from Performance Power Sports in Houma.
Feel like I got a pretty good deal from them after a little back and forth.

I did the exact same thing 3 years ago. I wouldn’t trade my defender for any other sxs. It’s a beast and great prices also.

Ck with shoals outdoor sports in Tuscumbia, Alabama. I got a 2019 highlighter ranger 1k for $17k roof and windshield last September. Worth the drive.

How do prices compare to the Defenders? Haven’t really considered these.

It was difficult at times trying to compare models and price differences between the two as different models for each offered different included accessories.
They were usually within two or three hundred dollars of each other for comparable models with the same accessories.
Ultimately I went with the Defender because it just felt like the right bike for me, it was visually more appealing to me and at a few hundred dollars more (MSRP) it came with aluminum wheels and better tires.
I had no preference either way when I set out to buy. Everything I read before I started looking for a new bike said these two were the best and you couldn’t go wrong either way.
The ranger 900 has more horsepower than the defender 800 but many reviews I read and watched say you’d never really see the difference. Both are rated for the same payload and towing capacity if I remember correctly.
The Can Am accessories do run a little more than the Polaris.
On a side note. The Ranger 900 goes away for the 2020 model and is replaced with a cheap version of the 1000 with less horsepower than the standard 1000.

Email me. I can give you a number to aim for.
ATV zone got me a 1000 last year for cheap.

how are the 500's vs. 1000's EFI's. For someone who rides farm roads and deer lease right-a-ways is the 500 enough?

The 500 motor is not the old Fuji motor. It Will not hold up long term like the old Fuji 500 and liberty 800.
Power is great. The platform is great. But seals, bushings, and electronics are sub par. Swapping a new diff into my 1000 right now. Seals failed.
If you're considering 500 class, consider the Honda. And I'm no fan of new Honda. But my 500 has been great.
Swap to a 27inch tire, change the oil for synthetic, and run heavier oil in the diffs. Do that and they are great little bikes.
Install a rear bed tray and roof and you are good to go.

Looking at trading my 2015 570 Crew Camo EPS. Looking at moving up to a 900or 1000. ATVZ quoted me 15811.00 OTD on a 900 Camo EPS not including my trade. Should I go ahead and get the 1000?
My bike is in good shape less than 500 miles. Has plastic roof, Polaris 3500 lb winch, aftermarket 27” tires and rims. What is a fair trade price? NADA has low retail of 9700.

A non crew 900 camo eps should be around 10600 right now. Massive rebates.
Crew in camo should be around 13500 or so.
Most dealers are gonna give rough trade. No matter how clean. Never trade in man
In a ranger the 1000 isn't for me. Detuned A LOT
In the General though....

Ended up with a Ranger XP1000 XPS premium pursuit Camo from ATV zone. Good people and got a good price. Decided on the XP 1000 over the 900 because of heavier duty chassis and gear box reverse(900 is chain driven for reverse) and more storage than the 900.

So what did you end up paying? Roughly speaking?
Posted on 8/23/19 at 12:11 pm to Goldensammy
Or exactly speaking would be good too.

Ranger was 16K but added light bar, roof and 4500lb winch. They gave me $7300 on my trade. Could have probably sold it for another grand but didn’t feel like the hassle. They made everything really easy.
