Only if the players 'donate' 75 dollars will it happen.

Sounds like the chancellor is looking for some loot to appropriate for personal gain. It’s the hbcu way.

The last time a HBCU tried to make a transition to FBS, it was Florida A&M and it ended up being a clusterfrick all around.

They got approved for a transition year immediately and it screwed with their schedule (required number of FBS games), their eligibility (a bunch of FBS transfer athletes were no longer immediately eligible since they were going from FBS to FBS rather than FBS to FCS), and the capper would have to be the audit of player eligibility across all sports that ended up getting them in big trouble with the NCAA.

The end result was a lot of costs for upgrading facilities and going through various processes to get that transition done only to crater on the field in their transition year, abort the process, and end up on probation to boot.

Some of those issues can’t really happen again because the process has changed, such as now requiring a conference to invite a FCS team in order for them to make the jump to FBS, but it was a disaster for the program that it never really recovered from.

Yeah, would be horrible. Kind of like hiring a HBCU for a real job in an actual functioning, successful work environment

That was such a disaster. They had plans to expand the stadium to 50k

A&T is a much better functioning school than FAMU
