I’m more concerned with our defense in games like these. Teams with nothing to lose will normally throw everything and we just need to play sound ball. Expect it to be close for about a quarter and a half and then put on the burners.

Nothing replaces in game experience with an offense.
Work the kinks out.

We probably see something similar to the spring with one or two new wrinkles.

Don’t think they bring out anything crazy as far as plays, but I expect them to throw the football. No more “save the secret offense” stuff that’s been happening for years. Prove that the passing game works against GS before going to Texas and trying to pass the ball.

I hope they come out in I formation and run a toss dive the first play just to F with everyone.
Just think how glorious the rant would be if it scored!

there is nothing wrong with a toss dive every now and then

about 350 scoops of Vanilla Vick.

There’s 2 philosophies.
1. Don’t show anything
Or 2. Show a taste of everything and give next week’s defense too much to prepare for in one week.
I prefer the latter. You do you. To hell with other teams. Make UT’s young guys on defense’s heads spin.

You set the tempo for the season on drive 1 vs Ga Southern.
Hopefully O will have a killer instinct offensively and not be soft on scoring 50 plus on teams.
Only way to get better is run your stuff full speed until it’s mercy time.

Exactly. Run your stuff until the game is secured. Then just run base plays to run out the clock.
No team has their entire offense in for week 1. You have your base package and a game package.
What we run in week 1 outside of the base package will be different week to week

If we go vanilla it will show that we still are hanging on to the same ole stupid philosophys we had under Miles of "not showing the offense" which is so f'ing retarded. YOu need to perfect the offense early in the season by actually using it and getting in the reps in live game time situations so that it is running smoothly by the time you get to the meat of the schedule

Good offenses practice whatever they got in these kind of games.

frick hiding the playbook. If it’s not there in week one it won’t be in week two. Open it up and blow them out. What happened to the 2011 mentality of steamrolling teams?

French,,,,,,,,,,,vanilla

The offense can’t afford to be vanilla, they need reps for Texass
This. I despise holdung everything back and playing conservative. i would rather my offense have live experience with the actual offense

If history is any indication, probably pretty vanilla.
It's the whole playing down to lower teams thing. It drives me nuts.
I get you want to protect your players from injury and so forth, I completely understand that.
With Delpit's nagging injury, I'd be ok with him not playing in that game. With that being said, I still don't want us to play down to them.
Time for the next guy in line to shine, even if it's for just that game.
