University of Virginia to offer aid to undocumented students

The University of Virginia has extended financial aid eligibility to undergraduate students who are in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
The Daily Progress reports the financial help will become available in Charlottesville this fall. University spokesman Wes Hester says the money will come from private funding.
I suppose we shouldn't care what the heck they do with private funding even though it is given to individuals with illegal status. However, when they offer in-state tuition to these individuals, which they are, that is subsidized by VA taxpayers.

Private money is fine but I'm sure there are lots of legal Virginians that would be glad to recieve help.

Seems a lot similar to Gov't funding of planned unparenthood. Getting tax dollars but swearing that the money for the other is private.

We are, tripping over our grandiose sense of virtue, and we’re swallowed up with false pride.
I fairness though, the school is less and less reflective of commonwealth. And the unfortunateness that emanates from Carr’s Hill is from out of state.

You can only do what you can, and that is vote with your dollars. In the meantime, like at many other state universities, it is getting harder and harder for qualified in-state US citizens to get in. Oh, and I see that the serial downvoter clown is up from his nap.

Rich Chinese nationals fly their pregnant wives, into LA and San Francisco stay for a couple of months, give birth. Fly back to China.
There are upscale houses that hold 6-8 expecting mothers at one time. The woman go shopping until they give birth. They do this so their children are American citizens.

They’re putting money aside to attract these people, and to make a political statement.
There will be a quota and they will do what it takes to fill it.
Those are spots that poor Americans would otherwise fill. And dollars that would otherwise go to poor Americans.
