And you could try clicking the lsusports.net links I posted. The second one is Games Played. You'll see what I'm talking about. Saying he didn't play is simply wrong. He started the year as one of our top WRs and then disappeared down the stretch because he was totally inconsistent.

One more post before I go to bed --

Dee Anderson was more productive off the bench then he was as a starter. You can look that shite up and I hope you do. Same link as my earlier post. Dude has had chances that isn't the problem with him.

NoGeaux is correct. Conditioning issues is another way of saying he did something wrong and is going to be running his arse off. Once he finishes the punishment I am sure he will be back on the team unless he continues to get in trouble.

WR is the deepest and most talented position on the team. Dee has NFL potential but needs to get dedicated

The updated roster has him listed at 197lbs, down from 220. I’m curious if they had an off-season goal for his playing weight and he came in too light and out of shape?

Wrong. He played in 12 games according to LSU

I was using a stat site which listed him as being in 8 games, apparently they only list games in which a player had a catch, I assume. My apologies on that.

I really don't know why some of you cling to the idea that Dee Anderson is a great receiver.

I was just pointing out that he was on par with other receivers on the team, no more, no less. I don’t understand why some so called fans feel the need to dog an LSU player.

So let’s use the LSU site to compare the stats again using the returning players minus Jefferson, since he had almost twice the catches that number 2 had

Dee Anderson 12 Games 4 starts 20 catches 274 yards 1 TD
Ja’marr Chase 13 games 7 starts 23 catches 313 yards 3 TD
Terrace Marshall 13 games 1 start 12 catches 192yards 0 TD
Stephan Sullivan 13 games 1 start 23 catches 363 yards 2 TD
Races McMath 12 games 0 starts 2 catches 42 yards 0 TD
Derrick Dillon 13 games 5 starts 22 catches 307 yards 2TD

If it was going to happen, it would have happened by now.

Plenty of players have 1 very good or even great season in college following serviceable or even poor seasons. Darrel Williams is a prime example, Nick Brossette to a lesser extent.

But hey, if you want to hold your breath ..... be my guest.

What’s the point of that sort of statement, do you not hope he does great in his final season as a Tiger?

quote:

I am personally much more excited about Chase, Marshall, and Trey Palmer.

As am I and most people who follow the team, I believe.

And The Valley Shook did a breakdown of last years receivers with catch %. You’ll see the difference in percentages are minimal.

https://www.andthevalleyshook.com/2019/4/3/18292998/2019-lsu-football-spring-practice-receivers-tight-ends-justin-jefferson-jamarr-chase-joe-brady

Last year looks a whole lot like a quarterback that had no time to gel with his receiving core and line prior to the start of the season, locked onto one receiver as his go to early and started spreading the ball around more as the season progressed. This season should look different, with the slew of receivers we have, though, I wouldn’t expect much difference in reception totals except I expect Jefferson’s ration to drop relative to other players and Marshall, Palmer(assuming they don’t redshit him) and possibly McMath to pick up considerably more passes.

Big strong caught the ball well.

He looks awesome. But he just never gets on the field.

He’s at best the WR3 on this team. More than likely 4.

He made some clutch third down catches for firsts in traffic. He is physical and can take hits. We need him over the middle in the quick slants.

What is "conditioning issue" coach-speak for? Dont think I've heard that one before

it means you didn’t participate in offseason to the satisfaction of Coach Moffitt.

I don’t think he’s that high. Sullivan (though technically at TE now), Dillon, and McMath are all probably ahead of him now. Jefferson, Chase, and Marshall obviously all are. But I think that’s the point. Dude has NFL physical gifts but keeps getting passed up by younger guys for reasons that likely don’t have anything to do with pure talent.

And I hope this is the wakeup call he needs. I’ve been a big fan since his freshman year. And even with the guys ahead of him, I think our offense is at its best when he’s part of the WR rotation. I hope he makes a ton of drive-extending and touchdown catches throughout the season. I’m just really skeptical at this point. I don’t think that’s some sort of controversial take.

Man this guy screams wasted potential.

Physically he looks like a clone of Megatron and SHOULD be a mismatch nightmare for literally every defender he lines up against.

If you read between the lines, Coach O is saying he had an off field violation (most probably another failed drug test) and he's going to run his arse into the dirt and like it or he can carry his arse. Don't need this crap when you are 8 deep at wide receiver.

Get in shape Dee, please! Dude is a tremendous talent that I hope wakes up, he is throwing away great talent. Not every WR has his size and skilss, he has great talent if he puts it all together. Can be a weapon in the NFL if he realizes how good he can be and takes it seriously.

What’s the update here? He is too good not to utilize. Super clutch last year. This just doesn’t add up.

Or he was supposed to come back in shape, but instead he came back out of shape and can’t run 5 routes in a hurry up offense without sucking wind.

Why suspend him from team activities for conditioning issues?

Because coaches can’t always tell you what’s going on. Let’s say he had syphilis. Would the coach say so? Of course not. What if he was mainlining heroin? These things would be “conditioning issues” or “personal issues”.
