I agree about the highrise but They could have built another bridge or added more roads and whatnot....just like they wound up having to do anyways where they are now.
It's taking the state how many years to build a single interstate exit ramp? How long would it take them to build another industrial canal crossing? 50 years?

How is that possible? Boh Bros drove piles for 2-3 years. Did they need another year or 2 to drive more?
Boh didn't drive the piles for this project, Gulf South piling did. You make up shite like this all the time to sound like you know something don't you?

I love how you come into these Airport threads defending Boh like you know what you're talking about

wrong.
again, quit making shite up. Boh did not drive the job piles for the n. terminal project. They drove a few test piles and then more recently the piles for the e. parking garage (separate project) none of which took 2-3 years.

So they drove the piles for a portion of the job?
Boh sub out some of the pile job to Gulf South
I was at the pile yard on Almonaster and watch them load out equipment to go to the airport strictly to drive piles for the airport
they had a shite ton of cranes out there 3 years ago driving piles....in July of 2016 to be exact

I guess for locals its more of a pain in the arse?
Easy drive in and out and quick through security
I dont understand why locals were so adamant on a new airport for their own sake. As a local, you dont really eat or spend time in your home airport

same here, however I would much rather the airport and new access roads be built in the East

Unless it's summer (have you tried to drive to the airport when all the garages are full) or a convention is in town.
75% of the time, flying out is a breeze. 25% of the time, it is a hellish nightmare.
There have been times I've gone to pick people up curbside, and it's 30 min from access rd / vets to the curb especially if they are flying delta.

completely different project
[quote]Boh sub out some of the pile job to Gulf South
Gulf South was awarded the piling for the N. Terminal project and drove all the piles.

you sure about that?
[quote]they had a shite ton of cranes out there 3 years ago driving piles....in July of 2016 to be exact
might have been driving sheeting.
Look broski, Im not some big Boh defender, but Ive worked with a lot of different outfits around the country and they are top notch. Its easy to get on here and shite on all local contractors like they are not up to the task. reality is some are, some aren't and sometimes in construction no matter how good you are, the plan changes.

thank you..and gulf south used Boh's equipment

I can’t vouch for that but I am very familiar with gulf south and I know they have more than enough rigs to handle it themselves without boh’s Equipment.

Its built on a swamp and its sinking.
The plumbing is not the issue its the ground settling snapping the lines.
The old system was built in vaults or banks system it had an allowance for settling the new construction is under slab.
Honest questions. Is the old airport sinking and if not, why not? Has it settled over the years and it is done settling (i.e. there were sinking problems for x years until it settled and those problem were fixed as they arose)?
My assumption is the old airport is not sinking as your post referred to "old system". Can you explain the vaults/banks so I can understand it? Which prompts the question why they adopted a new system when the old one worked.

Wat. I imagine a local spends far more time in their home airport than anyone else. MSY doesn't have that many connecting flights, so tourists and locals are getting there for departing flights at virtually the same time, and spending the same amount of time there. Locals are doing every time they travel.
The MSY is a complete dump that is very very far behind other facilities in a lot of ways, beyond even the things that passengers see.
On top of that its we are a huge tourist city and the hordes of tourists, the first thing they see is our completely shitty airport.

look broski, I've been doing business with Boh since 2004....I know what I know about them.....and I havent said anything derogatory or talked any shite about Boh
They are are very reputable family business with some very good people working for them. I dont know why you're getting so defensive.

Boh subbed out 95% of the piles to gulf south
This is 100% false.

Scruffy isn’t sure why y’all are arguing about Boh or whatever.
All that matters is that LA, once again, fricks anything they touch up.
Honestly, even if the money was there, the state should never undertake the building of a new MS River bridge.
Driving on it would be massively unsafe.
