I would imagine Woodward's little move will cause some backlash and he'll have to retreat. LSU is supposedly an institute of higher learning before it is a promoter of sports teams. The perceived power of the TAF needs to be reined in hard. LSU controls the Tiger trademark, which means LSU has the power. Athletes already have a lot of privilege at LSU so I'm sure there is some student and faculty resentment. The tail is wagging the dog, and it is not a good look.
Please shut the frick up with this stupid shite...total bait post

locking down Roy

I know he contributed to recruiting Roy, but is Woodward really the reason we got him?

make sure our coaches are held accountable

Is this based on the restructuring of WW’s contract? Either way, what other coaches have been held accountable?

I’m not questioning your judgement, I’m legit asking what you mean by those two statements. I mean, I’m a big Woodward fan, but he’s only been here a couple of months—is there really any reason to speak of him as if he’s turned things around even though, on the whole/save the tail end of the WW situation that he was here for, the athletic department was in a pretty good spot?

I have come to the conclusion that Chinho is either an A&M or Bama fan trolling an LSU board

Smart move by Scott. Academic side must not rely on athletics every year

Use of the tiger is the dumbest talking point possible. People would donate just as much to athletics if we were called the mud bugs.

I despise both Bama and A and M. I love LSU.

This was a sound financial move for both parties in the long run.

Woodward had little to nothing to do with recruiting ROY. Or any of our other recruits.

Maybe it’s because the institution of higher learning sucks at budgeting and is run by a bunch of clowns?

Not defending the administration but they have no control over the purse strings.
It’s nearly impossible for them to properly budget.

Then why does our institution of higher learning RELY on the $$$ donated to them from said sports teams (TAF) to bail them out?

Because here is what they require for literally every administrative / leadership position:

* experience in academics (which means lack of real business experience)

* masters degree or phd (which once again, means a bunch of how we think stuff should be freebee crap instead of real business acumen)

I don’t really care either way but I added my downvote just to see how many op could actually get. This must be a record for getting so many this fast.

This was simply poorly timed, given the ongoing media controversy about the extravagant locker room.

Or perfectly timed to deal the death blow needed to those "in charge"

I was thinking the same thing
