Natalie Portman as Thor or idiots showing how "open minded" they are by denying the stupidity of Natalie Portman as Thor

I’m excited for Blade. Not so much for the #girlpower ones.
CM was a fine movie, but the created “controversy” about it was tiring.

Halle Berry in her prime would have easily done a billion dollars today.
$82 million earned on $100 million dollar budget!

Marvel is screwing the pooch by pandering
Pandering would be to include a gay sex scene in a captain america movie or suddenly making Iron Man black. Using a preexisting marvel character that just happens to not be a white dude isn't pandering.
These movies are expected to make a billion dollars now. You don't get there by just catering to nerds.

So it's perfectly reasonable to you that a dude is able to pick up hammer no one else can and harness the power of lightning by wielding an axe created by a giant using a dying star, but unreasonable for a chick to do it.

Speaking of...
Riri Williams, tech wunderkind who once replaced Tony Stark.
People can accept FalconCap because Falcon was an established badass before that. Throwing a teenager with an Afro into the Iron Man suit is just plain silly.

when Valkyrie and Sif exist?
Until Blindspot ends, Marvel won't be able to use Jaime Alexander for a while. That's why Sif wasn't in Ragnarok (and why she's officially dead per the Russos)

Several other characters have gone by Captain America in the comics.
But it does seem like a convenient device for constantly feeding you recycled turds. Have fun spending your money on that.

Do I think this is necessarily their smartest move? No, as their readership dropped when they did a number of these dumber recastings of iconic characters. But there is at least a thought process behind it.
So, the OP is correct. If the viewership of the movies drops as much as the readership did when they SJWed the comics, it would wreck a studio.
There may be a thought process behind it; but it's a stupid thought process.

Some of these reincarnations happened in the 70s. There have been a shite ton of different Caps.

Like I said, their only choices are to replace the actors who played IM, CA and Thor or cut those stories altogether. They can't cut the stories, and people wouldn't accept the characters played by replacement lookalikes.
So they go woke. It's marketing, but still funny to see the sheep line up to prove how woke they are by shelling out their money.

Captain America is one guy, not a "mantle" that others pick up and continue.
Except that it is in the comics.
Many people have taken on the role of Captain America.
Steve Rogers is one man.

This thread is going a lot like my GoT thread and in the end I was right. I’ll be right about this too.

There is nothing woke about their marketing. And the sheep you're referring to are mostly children. As in literal children. We're talking about movies marketed to teenagers.

If you think the MCU is marketed particularly at teenagers, you're sorely mistaken. Teenagers don't have billions of dollars.

And before they start with their "it's not some interchangeable mantle" argument again:
Black Panther is a mantle. Like Captain America and Thor.
