Seems like it could be a “fair” offer, maybe not, but it was just an offer. Don’t hate the player, hate the game.
To me, the guy running the hotel is the bigger attention whore in this situation, looking for social media likes and attention for “owning” someone who simply made a business offer to him.
That was actually my first thought too. I hate "social media influencers" as much as anyone and enjoy seeing them get knocked down a peg...but it's not like they were just asking for free stuff. They were going to market for them, so the answer to all his questions of who would pay the people would be him with the increased revenue/booking rate after being featured.
Now, if the place is already pretty much always sold out then it makes sense, but he could've just said no we don't need any marketing and left it at that

Not much different than the influencers, just pandering for attention.
Except there was an actual risk in running their business and starting it.

I'd like to know the percentage of bullshite followers the average person has on social media.
I have been on twitter since 2012. I have 1714 followers. I'd say.. If I get 5 new followers in a week, 3 of those followers are from bot type accounts. One of those accounts might be someone who recently signed up, just going through someone's follow list and just follow random people.. And then ends up not being active after a week or so.
Any legit person who will follow me is more than likely a sports fan. The majority of followers are not consistently active. So if you live in America with 76k followers and trying to get a free room in Dublin is laughable.
When you factor in how many accounts are bots, how many accounts are active, how many of those people will actually one day even go to Ireland.. Yeah.. I am glad he told that dude to go frick himself.

The owner certainly did not put the social influencer in a "body bag", they just look like an a-hole. Plenty of businesses give free products for reviews and exposure.
As much as I hate the whole social media "influencer" culture, or whatever you want to call it, I dont see how its any different than a celebrity endorsement or advertisement. If its worth it to the company for exposure than it may be worth some form of comp. Then again telling them to screw off earns my respect too

I doubt that.

Reading other things posted by the White Moose, he doesn't seem to give a frick. Gotta like that in a business. I've always felt that way. If I'm running my business, I should be able to run it the way I want as long as I am willing to accept the consequences.

What’s your Twitter Chris? How are you able to keep it to 140 characters?

The over the top “own” and then publicly posting it was done to go viral as evidenced by the follow up t-shirts. It’s pandering to people who hate what social media has become - the Facebook crowd. I’m sure it worked as stoking the millennial-boomer divide is always an avenue for clicks, but it seems disingenuous considering the publicity stunt angle.

OweO does have 1700 followers. I stand corrected.

I'm a big fan of White Moose trolling. In this case the influences was offering some marketing services, she wasn't just trying to mooch.
