We moved everything we couldn’t replace upstairs at my parents’ house in St. Amant. They got 4-5 ft in 2016, which is the only time their home had ever flooded at all. We wouldn’t be in any danger at all if the parish would get off their arses and plug the couple miles long gap in the Laurel Ridge levee. It makes no sense. There’s all these levees along the Amite/Diversion canal, but there’s a large gap so the water can go around them. They were supplying to build it decades ago and never did.
