Ohio State reportedly no longer interested in Rakim Jarrett

"Jarrett's camp had reached out to Ohio State to see if they were still interested him before Mookie [Cooper] committed,” a source tells us. “Rakim is a big-time talent but Ohio State is not a good fit for him. You know things are going well in the recruiting department when a talent like him is politely turned away. Ohio State is not only looking for talented guys on the field but they are looking for the right character fit. This class of guys is bonding like no other.”
So that puts that to rest. And probably Ricks as well.

I'm not saying this is definitely the case here, but the mention of character concerns usually just screams sour grapes to me.

Jarrett already confirmed through Brian Hartline (posted a screenshot on IG) that was total BS.

Maybe that's absolutely a true statement by Jarrett. But, no matter true or not, HE ABSOLUTELY HAS TO SAY THAT. If he confirmed that, then he becomes an immediate issue with LSU

I dont think you understand, Brian Hartline said it was not true, tOSU's own WR coach. He sent the story to Hartline and Hartline's response was it wasn't true.

Yea. Especially when they say, 'character fits', like his character doesn't fit the rest of the class. OK. What I don't get is why his camp reached out to Ohio St. and not vice versa. If you are committed to a university, why are you reaching out to other schools? Maybe it's more of an ego thing, I guess, and Ohio St. people knew he wasn't flipping, just wanted the attention? IDK, just guessing, because the dude is a def take.

I think that screenshot is actually off instagram now. Didn't show up for me now and did 20 minutes ago when this first came out. All I saw was Rakim's post on it saying "I love you OSU but you know that's not true"

There was a screenshot of a text convo between him and HArtline and Hartline's response to him sending to Hartline was "Obviously not true". Someone posted a screenshot of it on Geaux247.

Rakim posted a screenshot of his text messages with Brian Hartline (OSU WR coach) confirming this was false. He deleted it now, but he did post it.

Ah I had seen on IG Rakim saying it wasn't true, not Hartline saying that

That’s extremely hard to believe. I can maybe believe they had their fill at WR and didn’t want to make room for him but the character thing is usually bullshite.

Apparently both He and the WR coach at OSU have said its not true. I got this from reading the other posts on the same thread. fyi
