The Dow, S&P 500 and Nasdaq all hit new intraday highs. The S&P crossed the 3,000 threshold for the first time.

The Nasdaq Composite needs to finish up more than 28.50 points for a record close.

I fully believe that when the 2020 election gets close enough, Trump will suddenly announce a new trade deal with China and will index capital gains to further boost the economy and stock market, thus kneecapping democrats and ensuring his reelection.

Obama's economy hard at work. I'm surprised it's still got this much steam, what with all Trump has been doing to wreck it.

Yeah but the little people. They don't have the intelligence or drive to share in the economy. so you must share them.

A definition for the fiscally ill-informed from our Wiki friends:
quote:

Zero interest-rate policy (ZIRP) is a macroeconomic concept describing conditions with a very low nominal interest rate, such as those in contemporary Japan and December 2008 through December 2015 in the United States.
Here's a handy chart from the FED illustrating the bolded part of the quote above:

Which period represents the time when Trump has been POTUS?

Do you honestly think that the president can control the stock market?

If so, why arent we at 4,000?

I guess I'm not sure how we are supposed to measure consumer confidence in the president. Maybe I should stop looking at his approval ratings.

This president influences the stock market on a daily basis. No one “controls” the stock market fully.
