California is just like any other state and place in the world where you have to work to make a living in, to have a good home and raise a family and it is one of the worst places in America to do that given how it's being taxed and regulated to death.
My wife and I tried to make it work there but it seemed like we were always a step behind. I am glad to be out of there.

Good news is I’m pretty sure in California they can just throw the keys at the lender and can’t be sued for any deficiency. So if they don’t have equity, they can just bail. One of the main reasons for stupid high home prices there.

I have a customer in rural California with a home on well water. The state sent someone out to look at putting a meter on her well in order to tax her for the water. She said she’s not far from leaving.

For California to get back to normal where the middle class and poor are not being priced out and it's not an in your face den of anti-family degeneracy and sin, it's going to take a political revolution unlike anything ever seen in American history but I also fear that it will probably get violent.
The balkanization of the United States is probably what it's going to take to fix California. That and a draining of problematic demographics who are ruining the quality of life there.

I guess I got the impression from the question that he didn't understand how tax law could affect a mortgage

It was an entirely reasonable question.
Everyone with a brain understood that the OP’s daughter saw an increase in their escrow payment to cover the additional taxes levied.

If the dems get a super majority back they will tax toilet paper and toilet flushing next

We should start seeing something like the Republic of Artsakh springing up.

Problem found. Why would anyone choose to live in that communist country.

They are saying it can't be done anymore. It used to be that you sold you house for a ton of money in Cali and then moved to Montana or Boise or some other state and immediately start bitching about public services. Used to see Save Montana, kill a Californian bumper stickers out there. They were apt.

Maybe Jody will kick in some $ to help out.

Sounds like something the SCOTUS will look into.

Always fishing for that excuse not to blame liberal policies

Many of their programs and policies result in no benefit and actually do harm. Bunch of ding dongs out on the left coast.

I was among the people who are perfectly well understood the nature of the issue. Which is why my response inquired into the details of the change in the tax portion of the escrow payment.
What is the change state wide or local? If local who controls the local government? Was it a change in what is taxed or in the right of the tax? Was it simply a matter of an increase in valuation?
All relevant questions. Sad that you do not understand that. Once it was pointed out, even Shorty (the one who raised the issue) admitted that the questions made sense, implicitly.

haven't you realized everything that doesn't suit the trumpkins is either Obama's fault or the democrats fault.

Or you can just continue to play stupid and pretend you aren't aware of California's overtaxation.

There are also other possible causes, and I like to evaluate ALL issues before reaching a final conclusion.
You, on the other hand, seem perfectly content to live your life based entirely up on biased preconceptions. That is fine. Have a great day.
