In the market for a new electric fillet knife. Just curious if there is a favorite among the OB. It will be used for trout and reds up to 20inch. Thanks in advance.

American angler. Ernge model. It cleans trout and reds like a boss.

The new bubbas look nice but I’ll stick with AA until it gives me a reason to look elsewhere.

I ordered the lithium ion bubba blade about a month ago and it still hasn’t shipped yet. Backordered I reckon.

Anxious to see how the bubbas hold up. How much run time are they supposed to get on a battery? Do they come with an extra ?

The guide I fished with the other day used a rigid. He said it’s the saws all and they came out with a fillet blade for it. It walked right through the reds and drum. Said he got it at Home Depot.

I have a rapala rechargeable and wouldn’t recommend it for reds. Haven’t cleaned a trout with it yet but for reds it lacks the arse needed to clean them quickly and cleanly. I find myself working the knife to make up for the lack of power.

I'm curious about doing something similar with a ryobi oscillating tool + rigid recip attachment (which supposedly fits ryobi) to make a cordless electric fillet knife.

Ordered from OpticsPlanet.com. Random, I know. It was literally the only website I could find that said they had them in stock, which turned out to be not true. Every psychical location near me also did not have them yet!

ETA: I had a battery powered knife once and found that the additional weight of the battery affected the feel and control.

My year old African Angler gets hot as a two$ pistol cleaning 20 trout and you can’t hold it past 40 trout but it does give me time to sip a cold shiner. Their blades suck, buy mr twister blades if you really want to cut some fish.
