Old earth.

Young mankind as we know it to be in Scripture.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. PERIOD . No timeline noted.

Intellect tells us we are unique beings, amazingly complex, fragile yet resilient. We begat within, not across, types.

Intellect tells me time precedes the current human experience as we know it to be. I can marvel at the remains of creatures in museums that no eye has seen walk this earth as we know it.

Old earth, which diminishes nothing.

New creation (mankind as we know) which ought to cause us to rejoice

they dont even have an explanation for neanderthal dna in humans and denosovan and neanderthal dna in humans.

The earth is littered with skeletal remains that belie the paltry old testament.

Now back up your claim.
The only way to accept YEC Theory is to accept the notion that the Deity which allegedly created us (and loves us so very much) also thought it would be wildly entertaining to frick with us by planting fossils and false radiocarbon evidence.

This immediately discredits anything he says, anyone who thinks earth is 6000-10000 years old is a fricking idiot. It is the equivalent to being a flat earther.

I’m no expert, but if we weren’t around to observe stuff thousands or millions of years ago, everything we analyze and conclude about dates in the past necessarily requires an assumption that the whole of the earth and the universe didn’t spontaneously come into existence. If it did, everything we think we know would be invalidated, no?

If everything had been created 5 minutes ago exactly as it is today, you given memories of your entire life as you know it, how would you know the difference?

OK. Simple.

He thinks the Earth is only several thousand years old.

Hence. Idiot

Deity gave us the ability to reason and a desire to examine our surroundings...…….then said, "now watch this shite!!!"

Keep in mind, this is a deity that makes VERY plain that it is HIGHLY important to him that we worship him. And, at the outset, goes well out of his fricking way to make sure he shows in plan view why he is all powerful.

But then, he said, "just wait till these frickers see what I have I store for them once they discover science!!!!"

I don't think that there is ANY conflict between evolution and God existing

But, I think that if you believe in a God that just fricked with us for comedic effect, THAT is friggin weird.

So. God created everything in a moment, but then thought it would be cute to make shite APPEAR to have been aging for millions of years?

shite, that's just insulting...…….to God

He gave us the ability to reason. To refuse to use that ability is counter to what his obvious wishes would have been in choosing to give us that ability

If he didn’t, there’d be a whole lot of stars and other pointless objects in the universe that we’d never see because the light hadn’t made it here yet.

The point is simple.

God gave us reason on purpose.

You're arguing as if the current universal set up was some sort of requirement but something tells me that no one issued God a Statement of Work.

He didn't HAVE to create ANYTHING that conflicted with reason.

So, if one believes he did, then, they are concluding 2 things.

1. That it is impossible to actually apply reason to our universe

2. God gave us the ability to reason for no fricking reason.

OR...…….and, this really ain't a long shot...……..God gave us reason and, we are finding shite just as he intended us to find it because...……..you know..........it ain't like God even issued some edict regarding how old we are supposed to think the Earth is.

This is OT, but it bothers me how much intellectual authority people give medical doctors.

Most i know aren’t any smarter than the people on this board - many are dumber.

Then you are at the point of the alternative posited by the person you are replying to: God deliberately added evidence to frick with us

Exactly. HE controlled ALL of whatever the laws of physics would be.

We would have been none the wiser if he'd simply created a world for us completely compatible with reason and being several thousand years old.

We wouldn't have missed the stars if he didn't create them.

He could have created a universe for us the size of half our solar system. Hell, he could have just made the Earth self warming. Didn't really need a sun.

He had COMPLETE artistic freedom!
