The pint sized ice creams have a plastic seal around the cover so you can tell if it's been tampered with. Why can't the gallon containers have this as well?

The lid itself is the seal. Once you remove it, when you put it back you will see air in the clear part, even if you haven't removed any ice cream.

It's an easy check when buying.
