I’m not in pain and stopped taking the Vicodin because I feel like that is what is making me worse. I’m also sweating like crazy and go from hot to cold. I don’t have a fever.
Maybe your body is going through withdrawals?

Jesus, I had no idea that coming down after using pain killers for even a couple days for necessary pain management was so bad that you’d need anxiety meds.
I took opioids pretty regularly for a couple of years before I had back surgery, then for post-op pain management. I never had any withdrawal symptoms when I stopped taking them.
Some days I didn't take any, some days when pain was bad I took 5-10 pills.

Yep, that’s how people develop into pill heads. I hate taking the damn things.

It just goes to show that we’re all wired differently. One of my brothers could do the same thing. Me? Nope!

it is the crushing anxiety and temp swings that are making this unbearable.
Those are telltale signs of fibromyalgia.

just not sure I can do 10 days more of recovery like this.
Hate to be the one to break it to you, but you’re pretty limited on options.

I think you may be having a reaction to the Vlcodin. Depending on how bad your pain is, your anxiety level may be much higher than normal high and this causes a sympathetic response. Where would you rate your pain on a scale of 1 - 10? Hope you get some relief. Be sure to eat well and drink liquids, non-alcoholic.

I'm sorry, but OP sounds like a little puss

Augustine, what did you do to help make you sleep?
Just stopped taking the meds before bed. Also move around during the day. Keep that leg up, but go from a recliner to a couch, move around every 30 mins. Hard to sleep when you’re laying around all day. Wake up early and get yourself on a more normal schedule.

was on the pain meds from Tuesday afternoon to Thursday afternoon. Would I really be experiencing withdrawal?
Nah. That’s a very short period of time. Sometimes you just have a weird reaction. See it all the time and lived it. We’re all wired differently.

Jumping Jacks.
You need to get up out of that bed and do some jumping jacks.
That'll get you feeling better.

Thank you. Had the surgery on Tuesday and the pain was there Wednesday into Thursday but no pain at all, just anxiety. I called my doctor and they want to see me so I’m waiting for my wife and dad to get home and take me.
My plan is to get up and move around today so hopefully that will help. I know I sound like a giant vagina but this is scary and I am not a fan of feeling this way. I would love some Xanax from the dr to wipe me out and let me sleep.
I have a good amount of weed too but honestly, I’m afraid to take anything right now. I had some weed yesterday but I am worried I will react poorly again to it. I have never reacted poorly to weed before so I’m not sure if it was the meds or the weed or both.

It’s a combination of everything. Did you tell the doctor you use MJ? If not, you need to. He just needs to know everything you take so he can make sure he is prescribing appropriate medications for your recovery. It is possible he will give you a limited dose of anti-anxiety medication. You’re not gr first person to have an unusual reaction to anesthesia/pain medication. He will be able to help.

Can you please change thread title to say "I took illegal drugs after a surgery instead of following my doctors advice and now I'm all messed up".
Thank you.

I did tell them I smoke occasionally and would with this. He said weed was ok. I learned a long time ago the last person you lie to is your doctor.
Basically it looks like I just need to suck it up for a few days. I was able to fall asleep for about 2 hrs this am and was hoping it would help. It did but I still don’t feel right and that pit in my stomach is still there. I can’t even enjoy all the babe threads as that has reverted back into its shell too.

It's called recovery for a reason. Just chill out and follow the doctors orders and stop overthinking everything.
I presume you'll be going into a cast once the stitches come out. If you think you have anxiety now wait until your foot swells up a little in your cast and you can't move it or your toes at all. That feeling sucks. That foot is going to be completely immobilized for up to six weeks.

I am in a cast/splint right now. Go back not this Monday but next Monday for a boot. Still feeling like crap and getting ready to go to the doctor in about an hour.

I went to my doctor today and she said it looks like I am having withdrawal symptoms from both the meds they prescribed me as well as the stuff they gave me I surgery.
My blood pressure was normal but my resting heartbeat was in the high 90’s compared to normally in the high 50’s low 60’s. The hot flashes and chest pressure she is saying is from the surgery drugs and the pain meds. She prescribed me some type of beta blocker which should help calm my nerves and help me sleep.
TLDR- diagnosed with anxiety stemming from opioids. I feel bad for anyone who gets addicted as I can’t imagine having to go through this again
