Never tuck with shorts at any age, unless you rock the bowtie.
Untucked with a bowtie is always wrong.

I went to a wedding in a church about 15 years ago in a Hawaiian shirt, torn khaki shorts and Sperrys.
I was over dressed. 2 of the 3 bridesmaids and brides had visible wind catcher tats. The brides brother said during the reception toast; “I’m an EMT and can kill you while making it look like an accident.”
Marriage obviously lasted less than a year.
Wedding was in Bankroft. Yea, shithole in the middle of nowhere.

But to OP, shirt was not tucked.

"My dad is really pissing me off. He won't let me take the yacht out this summer. We're have to see if your dad will let us use his lake house for the party, Chad. "

"Brad, we are good to go at my dad's lake house. I'll get the kegs, broski!"

Sandals and gay.

Also gay. Only women should wear shoes barefoot.

I picture the average OTer as this:

5 foot 9 and 230 pounds.
Columbia fishing LSU shirt
Cargo shorts
Crocs and/or Brooks running shoes
Balding with neckbeard

Only 1/5 over here.

It's not the cargo shorts.

I’m in my 50’s, but if I’m wearing khaki shorts and any type of collared shirt, it’s going to be tucked. I’ve done that all my life, though. Only exception would be a shirt that’s designed to be worn untucked, like those overpriced ones from that website.

This is not surprising at all.

Shorts are inherently casual therefore if you are wearing them you don't tuck in your shirt. Unless on the golf course, of course.

PS, if you are on the golf course please for the love of God don't wear a white belt.

I'm much more interested in looking good without clothes. If you get that right, how you look when you are dressed becomes much less significant.

A few things wrong here:

-Bowtie with shorts
-Grey belt
-Shorts too tight while standing. Can't imagine this guy was able to sit down.

60? 70? Is there a gay exception to the rule, allowing the gays to tuck without penalty?

Y’all motherfrickers worry about what another man is wearing too much. I hardly notice that any of you exist

God some of y'all have no style. And it's annoying as hell how the ot calls anything nice and stylish frat. Just because most first guys dress preppy, doesn't mean everything preppy is just frat.

Most of y'all must be fat and think fishing shirts should be worn 90% of the time.

Now to answer the question, with nice shorts and a nice Polo or button down can be done both ways at any age. Each outfit is different. Now tucking and wearing way the hell up over you gut is also unacceptable. Essentially being fat negates any tucking that should be done most of the time. Get your arse in shape, don't care how old you are.
