Tell them to just send us Kuzma as well, should open some cap for them

Tell Pelinka frick off or give me 3 additional first rounders that would expand an additional 5 years to what they Pelicans are already owed
You can only give 1sts for up to 7 years, and they can't be in consecutive drafts. So the cap is 4.
We could have 4 firsts, 3 swaps.

The reality is Kawhi Leonard's focus is on Los Angeles, but it's the Clippers not the Lakers," Wojnarowski said. "No. 1, they [Lakers] don't have the money to sign him. And two, the idea of him being a third wheel on a superteam, that has not been Kawhi's M.O. The Clippers are poised to be able to lure him from Toronto. This would be a Raptors/Clippers fight. He may take meetings with more teams, but it's not even certain that he'd take a meeting with the Lakers right now."

I could see a team like the Knicks offering Boggie a 3 year deal at 12 per. They might be desperate for a big name lol

Can LAL just sign over the cap and simply pay a (large) penalty?
I obviously don’t know all the cap rules.

If I'm the GM of another team why would I take on the salary of one the Lakers bums just so the Lakers can sign a 3rd superstar. It makes no logistical sense. Lakers will be stuck with them unless they add draft picks on to the deal to ship them out. Oh wait we have all those

I honestly don't care what they offer to try and entice us to help them create cap space. We already have EVERYTHING from them. And we need them to be a dumpster fire. They don't know how to construct a team without it being superstars, so force them to have to identify players that fit and watch em crash and burn.

I would give anything for them to dump these players, have woj reporting Kawhi is will to go to the Lakers for the max, and have it fall apart because AD won't waive his kicker. Of course I know in real life he'd fold like a bitch once rich and LeBron tell him what to do.

As great as Kawhi Leonard is I am not sure he fits.
Pre injury Klay Thompson would have been perfect.

I would tell them tough luck we like the trade as is.
Or ask for Kuzma to really get in their heads.
Otherwise I have zero interest in helping them.

How much longer before we're "acting in bad faith"?

Lakers offering contracts of Mo Wagner/Jemerrio Jones/Isaac Bonga to additional teams, so LA can satisfy CBA rules on creating $32M in space.
That wouldn't be close to getting them to the max, if they trade away all 3 for future 2nd round picks, the Lakers based on the contracts would free up 4.8 million in cap space (1.4 MM/1.4 MM/2 MM)
But since they aren't acquiring any new players they take a 900k per empty slot, so 2.7 MM back on their books.
So total they could free up around 2 million in cap space by trading away their three players.

Shite is getting real over in the land of fruits and nuts...lol
Posted on 6/18/19 at 7:55 pm to LSUFreek
they could and probably will go over the cap if I had to bet. but teams avoid the tax because the repeater tax is insanely expensive. they are going to have to get really lucky for players to come play for a discount
they have delusions of granduer when in all actuality they will only be able to afford guys like JJ Barea, Corey Brewer, Ian Clark, Jonas Jerebko, TJ McConnell, etc

With the dirty dealing lebron had with us going behind the scenes to convince AD to join him in LA, why the frick should we do anything to help them? frick that franchise, they made the original deal and now realize how fricked they are. Leave them in shambles

I think they have heard through the grapevine someone wants to sign.
