Idk if y'all have noticed this yet, but my take is that is it alllll David Griffin.

rumors were that he went super hard at Kyle Kuzma because he knew Jeanie would never agree to trade him. then it got leaked that Kuzma was the one holding up the trade. So then to "make up" for keeping Kuzma out, Pelinka gave Griffin everything else

Pelicans get the #4 pick. You hear that the Pels want to move up for Barrett. You hear the Knicks are looking at Garland for #3.

This is ALL Griffin making this look like a 4 player draft instead of the "3-player draft" that its been touted for months. There is no chance we keep this pick. The only possibility of keeping the #4 pick, is to trade him at the deadline

Baffling people with bullshite works in the short term.

The question is whether it still works when they see him coming.

Griffin is using the media to control the narrative. at least that's my opinion. he knew what he was going when he traded AD and he has a plan for the #4 pick

and you're right, they should see it coming, but will they still bite?

Garland could be the next Damian Lillard. I'm keeping the #4 pick and taking him unless I can get Beal.

Damian played at Weber State against teams in the Big Sky. How did that turn out?

Dame played 4 seasons at Weber State. Lots of tape, lots of things he worked on during that time. Not a great comparison

also apologies for being a smart arse

Lol you didn’t hurt my feelings. I wasn’t trying to be either. I don’t take anything said on an online message board personally. Schwartz isn’t even my real name

Right, and he wouldn't have even been drafted after his first 2. He improved every year and basically came out of nowhere.

Garland was one of the top HS recruits and played 5 games against tomato cans in college. He lit it up in HS and those games but theres not a lot of tape to go on.

And Garland showed skillsets that took Lillard several seasons to properly develop. Though I don't actually like that comparison.

I would like to have more tape, but you don't need 20 more games to see the sort of handle, ball skills, separation abilities, pull up game, and clean shooting form Garland already possesses.

I said this earlier on twitter. This is all subterfuge. He is using his media contacts to spread crazy arse propaganda about who goes where and all the while he has his eye on a player and a deal. If the player is there, great. If not, he takes a deal.

I’m thoroughly impressed with this glorious mother fricker.

That’s probably the ultimate plan unless we get a massive offer

He really looks like the perfect fit, for the team, for Zion, for the backcourt with either Jrue or Ball. He’s supposed to be an incredible kid and leader too.

He can get 25+ minutes as the third guard off the bench and he can play with anyone else, Jrue, Ball, Hart or even Frank.

I like him a lot and would be sad if they trade the pick, but if they do, I’m sure it’s cause they are getting someone even better.

Better comparison is Kyrie who played nine game total, but you could just tell from watching him for two minutes he was gonna be a star. Garland to me is kind of like that.

wasn't Lillard -- even with his 4 seasons of college ball -- still projected to go in the middle of the 1st round... until he started doing individual workouts and pushed his stock higher

Garland may have done the same except someone promised him at the combine they'd take him top 5, so he went home...

I'm more on board with taking Garland which makes Ball expendable. Plus you have a potential replacement for Jrue who could potentially be dealt at the deadline this year.

With all the hype surrounding Garland right now, is there anything out there that has Morant falling to #4, or is that a complete pipe dream.
