They had to have. No way they just didn’t bother working out Culver, Hunter, Garland and beyond. They knew they were getting extra firsts for a while. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen something saying they worked out Langford

Exactly what I'm thinking. It's been weird to me. Either we are working them out quietly or we are dead set on trading #4. But we haven't even heard them working the next tier of guys in the top 10 to move back to. Langford is probably outside of the lottery.

Bos: #4 Ingram 2021 Lakers 1st Pels : Tatum Who says no, other than maybe Boston

If Im the pelicans I say hell no. Ingram performed better than tatum did last year before being sidelined. I still think tatum is the better overall player but then you are going to add in number 4 and a 2021 1st. Thats a no for me.

We need to do nothing with the pick accept hold it. Garland is the real deal and he is that scoring/shooting combo guard we have been wanting so bad.

If Boston wants to swap Ingram and 4 for Tatum, I’d need 3 future firsts to even enter into negotiations.

After the shite they pulled with the AD trade, I’m fine making them pay an ‘Ainge tax’ and asking for 2 seconds on top of the 3 firsts.

Hell, if we were offered 8 and 10 for 4, those are probably better picks than we’d get from Boston, and it’s debatable whether Ingram or Tatum is the better player.

If they’re so enamored with 4 that they’d deal Tatum for it (they wouldn’t do that for AD), then I have to ask myself why they want the pick so bad.

Maybe we should hold on to it. If they want it bad enough, they can pony up for it.

People have lost their god damn minds if they prefer Garland to Ja

Not really man. Ill take either but based on my personal evaluation, I see Garland as a can't miss prospect and I'd personally give him the nudge over morant, even though ill get a lot of shite for it. His shooting is just so smooth and quick, he has an all around game.

Ja just has special athleticism and playmaking ability that separates him from other PG's. Garland might end up being better however if his shooting is as good as the small sample size leads some to believe. Ja and Garland are very different players with regard to their styles of play. Garland's range and ability to create his own shot are very intriguing to me. I think Zion and Garland could be the future of the Pels; a deadly inside/outside combo.

agreed JA is like a westbrook and i would love to have him. But seriously right now we are sitting in the perfect spot and should not move the pick. I honestly think the knicks could take garland over barrett.

Garland will fit better next to jrue as well.

I think the Ja comparison to Westbrook/De'Aaron Fox is spot on. Ja is going to be great, no doubt. He's an elite athlete with terrific court vision and he's fearless. Pretty good shooter as well. Garland isn't as explosive, not the same kind of passer, and not the same kind of finisher, but he can just flat out score. Great touch, deep range, and I like the idea of a guy who can just create his own offense without having to drive to the basket.

If Barrett falls to 4, I wouldn't complain either.

At this point Ja is almost certainly off the table, anyway.

Then they dont get 4...

Ainge has a philosophy of only going for deals where he gets overpaid, that's the same philosophy every other team should take with him

So, you think that proposed trade leads to Boston getting overpaid?

Just draft Garland. Pels need a shooting guard. They should set nicely at guard.

No, that's Boston overpaying for what they want...

If they dont want to overpay, they dont get what they want

I missed where Boston was really high on the #4... or if they were really interested in acquiring it at all... and certainly not the extent they'd make an absurd trade. You seem more put off by Boston because they didn't make the AD trade than anything else.

Ainge has his warchest and yet he never wants to spend it.

If he is waiting for a rainy day to do so, it’s raining.

I was responding to a poster on page 3 that said he's heard of it

I havent seen anything on it personally, but that's all I would do it for, otherwise I tell Ainge to frick off

Besides, what else do they have? Would you go from 4 to 14 for just a future 1st? Hell no
