re: Garland taking last minute workout for NYK; Teams hot for Garland at 4

I like the idea of Garland at #4. Short of getting Morant, I’d take a flyer on him because of what he brings as you can Lee Ball and him.
You get a three guard rotation of Jrue, Ball, and Garland. At all times one of the 2 in is a great scorer and the other is at least a great shooter.
Then you could have a small ball lineup for shot spurts moving Zion to the 5 and Ingram to the 4 and the 3 guards in. That leaves you three scorers and three great defenders.
Unless you really get a great offer, this is quite the potential linenup and leaves money to get good players for the other needs on the team.
Telfair is another guy that looked great on high school and highlight videos and flopped in the NBA.
High school b-ball and AAU aren’t really comparable to what you’ll get in college. They are teams purely based on talent and not on filling particular roles on the team.

Yep. Memphis is taking Morant unless some insane offer comes their way.

Pretty sure that Memphis is taking a point guard. Everybody including myself assume Morant will be the selection which is why I framed the question how I did.

Upside. I know he's not Lillard, but draft is all about protecting upside. I also like Hunter at 4, but I think Garland is a more valuable asset because of interest from other teams.

Memphis is taking Morant OR Garland IMO. Most likely Morant but anything is possible. They need to replace Conley.
