Specifically from Louisville, Kentucky area. I am taking a trip back home to Alabama from Indiana a couple of days after fathers day. I go through Louisville and see there are several bourbon distillery's there and I would like to purchase a good bottle of Kentucky Bourbon for my dad for fathers day. He really likes whiskey and has just recently started collecting different types now that he is retired. I have looked at several places and came across one called Angel's Envy and it looks legit. Any experience with this? Or better recommendations?
I see they have a bottle that is going for about $55 but they also have some that go all the way up to $600 (not happening). Idk much about bourbon so any advice is welcome.
Thanks in advance.

Angel's Envy isn't bad. It's sherry cask finished so it has a unique kind of sweetness to it. I enjoy it. The $600 variety is probably some kind of cask-strength, those are pretty rare. You can find the normal stuff everywhere so it might not really warrant a special trip to the distillery.
You could also check out the Heaven Hill Bernheim Facility, they usually have some good stuff. William Heavenhill is only sold at the distillery and is delicious.

If you have a vehicle, the Williet and 4 Rose distillery sometimes have non standard bottles, these will be very good. There are also be store barrel picks out there. Bottles from store pics from Buffalo Trace, 4 Rose will be good bottles and not something you can get at home.

Stop by the Heaven Hill distillery and pick up a bottle of old Fitzgerald. They typically have ones you won't find anywhere else.

I'll second four roses.... thier single barrel is probably the best value for the money... you'll spend less than $50 and walk out with an EXCELLENT single barrel bourbon

Skip the distilleries and stop by Total Wine on Taylorsville road or Taste Fine Wine & Bourbons in Nulu. Drove up to Louisville last week and both have good selections. Taste FW&B is a mom & pop place, so it’s personal and they can give you a rec on something unique to Kentucky. You can get four roses anywhere

A few miles east of Louisville is Lawrenceburg, home to the Four Roses and Wild Turkey Distilleries. Four Roses, especially, has a line of bourbons to suit almost any taste. It's worth the short trip to sample their wares.

Noah's Mill is one the best IMO
Angel's Envy is good, very smooth, but also has lower alcohol content compared to most bourbons of similar price

AE is nice Bourbon for someone who doesn't like or drink Bourbon often. Sweet, smooth and soft. I feel like the price is $40 bourbon $15 fancy bottle. Bourbon is like wine and different years produce. Different versions and blends of the same label. Try down loading a whisker app. To find out what you actually have when you find it. I like "Breaking bourbon" another I use is "the whiskey reviewer".
