So a solid rotation starter for a competitive young team with lots of playoff experience?

His spin rate and ground ball percentage were still one of the best in baseball last year.

Ground ball rate dropped by about 10% and he lead the league in hits allowed.

Definitely would have liked him back since we weren't gonna retain Morton. He's not what he once was but he's certainly capable of being a very good to elite MOR guy and great to have on the bullpen in the 'yoffs.

I guess it's more about the trend. I think this works out for yall as long as it's for a deal no longer than through next year. But that's just personal opinion

He dramatically overrated his own value and Miley is an upgrade over him currently, but we could have used him this year.

I still think we need another starter unless Folty regains his form or Fried is more April Fried than May/June Fried.

Soroka imo is fast becoming a legitimate ace although the peripherals show he's not there yet he has everything you want from a makeup/stuff/maturity standpoint to be their first real #1 in a decade.

Keuchel and Teheran are great 3/4 options and they have plenty of arms to shuffle in and out of the 5 spot and even go with 6 like they have for stretches over the last couple of years with Fried/Folty/Touki/Wilson/Wright and possibly soon Anderson or Weigel.

Can Folty or Fried be the #2 guy? That will determine whether or not you need to go get Bumgarner or Stroman imo.

Coming from you is rich after your previous posts.

This is a good move for the braves. Your jilted lover thing is just sad.

A successful Keuchel sits at the bottom edge of the zone with his sinker, changeup, and slider, toying with batters and baiting them to swing as pitches often tumble just at the last moment.

However, Keuchel struggled to find this rhythm last year, showcasing a dip in O-Swing that forced him to throw pitches in the zone at a 42.5% mark. It led to his highest allowed contact rate since his rookie season and a thirteen point drop in groundball rate. His slider was the biggest detriment, dropping massively in chases off the plate and swings-and-misses while raising its BAA nearly one hundred points, and without that breaker, Keuchel doesn't have enough in his changeup and sinker to hint at the ace of old.

This is the pitch they reference. While he was never a strikeout artist, he was able to pick up timely strikeouts with that slider. It's an out pitch when he gets into trouble. Comes in on the back foot of RHB and sweeps away from LHB. He didn't have that pitch consistently last year. It wasn't a pitch worth chasing...if he starts to command it again, good things could happen.
