Back in January, I was looking for a room near Atlanta for an expo and Motel 6 was $240! Then I realized Super Bowl was that weekend. Attendance at the expo was way down. Wonder why?

First of all, you misquoted me.

I said "LSU TAF elite, player families and staff..."

If you don't think the high dollar TAF donor (elite) isn't getting a a couple of tickets to this game, you're as dumb as a box of rocks.

This was my LaQuinta rate nearest to UT. I think I got the reservations 45+ weeks in advance:

Room rate [Average Nightly Rate: 99.75 USD,

09/06/2019 - 80.75 USD per night.,

09/07/2019 - 118.75 USD per night.]

Stay outside of Austin in Bastrop. 35 minutes away with plenty of hotels at a decent rate

I misspelled staff. I had staf.

So, yes.

Look for hotels in Round Rock, Texas. It is only about 15 miles from the stadium, right on I-35. Thank me later.

We booked air bnb. Pretty bad arse house close to 6th street cheaper than a hotel.

I always stay outside of Austin for big events. It’s much less

Look in Kyle, San Marcos, even Georgetown or New Braunfels. It’s worth it to save $50+ a night

be prepared for gridlock on I-35 on all days at all hours if you stay in towns north or south of Austin (esp south) The Domain is a little north and west of UT and is a trendy happening place in Austin and often called a second downtown. It and the nearby Aboretum have lots of hotels (and shopping)

Our very own Traveling Alumni just
hit me up for a $200 increase on the
package I bought last year. "Due to
high demands".

I live in Austin. You can sleep on my floor for $50 less than the lowest rate.

only 3,000 tickets being sold and that will be for the LSU TAF elite

The Elite of the Elite.

Our TAF ranking is around 240 or 245 out of approx 21,000 TAF donors, and we were told to not even expect a pair for the UT game.. in the past i’ve easily gotten multiple tickets for bowl games, neutral site games and even the Bama/LSU Title game in 2012.. for this game, most likely nada.

As for the OP, if you were expecting anything approaching affordable rooms 3 months prior to one of the biggest road games in LSU history.. then that’s your bad.

Well, Dozer, I just scored some good tickets, and made the reservations late.

ALWAYS make the reservations to an away game 50 weeks in advance (most hotels allow you to do this) and you can cancel later. If not available then, just keep checking weekly.

Just put it on your calendar to cancel.

I am still deciding if I will go, but have reservations about 8 blocks from stadium or so.
If I don't, I will post it in case someone wants them.
