It is very bad to start doxxing people. For journalists to be doing it is really bad.
to start?
CNN doxxed a fricking teenager a few years ago for making a gif
and then jacked itself off with masturbatory piecesl like this

Yeah. This isn’t new behavior.

Curious take. I wonder if Planned Parenthood agrees with you.

find the downvotes fascinating here as I can’t believe people support someone who lied and not the entity that exposed him as a liar.
We should dox everyone that you don't agree with then? If that's the case, let's get rid of usernames and use folks real names on message boards

I'm gonna say yes.
But i support deepfakes and misleading videos going viral because it will fix our discourse

also doesn’t help that I think stuff like he did is toxic for our political discourse
On a scale of one to 10, this is a two.
The things I see daily in yahoo or MSN headlines on the net about trump are far worse and contain stuff like "anon sources" or "Insiders reveal"

It sounds like he made a video that deliberately attempted to mislead people. I don’t have a problem calling people out for that.
So you have no problem with the propaganda msm?

If someone creates a video, doctors it, and then shares it through “news” pages they manage, I’m not terribly opposed to them becoming part of the story. Who he is doesn’t effect the pelosi storyline but surely that a guy that manages multiple pages was the source on a doctored video- right or left- should catch some hell and be subject to potential recovery of damages

We are way past the point of no return. Lack of critical thinking, lowering IQs plus social media is creating a social feedback loop. The Trump treatment cemented the process.

“Don’t agree with” and “shares doctored video to intentionally damage through multiple sources portrayed to be ‘media’” are two widely different standards.
I often disagree with folks around here, but go ahead and have opinions that vary. I’m not trying to see anyone blown up for supporting differing tax codes or interpretations of associations clauses.
I think if you take party associations out of this story, it wouldn’t be discussed like it is currently in this thread. Maybe I’m wrong, just skimming some threads waiting on my coffee... but my suspicion is a straight up doctored trump video would be met by fire and fury

I'm optimistic that a few good deep fakes/fake soundbites will completely erode trust in news sources.

Sue the person doing the doxxing
The Doxxer is Kevin Lee Poulsen
He lives at 1519 Noe St, San Francisco, CA 94131
It's a nice little 750sqft place titled to his 45y/o GF Lauren Gelman
Or the Doxxee could just call Kevin at 415-695-7494 or email him at KL@well.com
(apparently KL is allowed back on the internet to get email subsequent to his 5 yr prison sentence for computer hacking.)
etc. etc. etc.
What's good for the goose . . .

Time for another meme war like we did to CNN.
Posted on 6/2/19 at 8:41 am to HailHailtoMichigan!
This isn't surprising. CNN threatened to dox someone that made a video that made fun of them
Posted on 6/2/19 at 8:43 am to SlowFlowPro
You could easily say CNN was the leader in the doxing movement.
That started the snowball.
What really bothered me was when the left started doxing the wrong kids during the Covington incident, and those families started getting death threats.
Naturally the MSM suppressed those stories as it didn't fit their narrative, but doxing folks on the right isn't something new here.

No he didn’t.
It’s pretty clear from the article that he was the one who made the misleading video. How is he not trying to mislead people?
Posted on 6/2/19 at 8:59 am to LSU2ALA
How specifically did he lie? Who made the determination?
