Driving While Distracted.

Could apply to virtually anything that the driver is doing that would take away their attention from the road.

Things like:

- Texting/messing with your phone
- Eating
- Reading
- Doing Makeup
- Animal roaming free in Lap
- Road Head

All the things that drivers do that are annoying as shite and harmful to the rest of the roads.

Punishment should not be as severe as a DWI but similar repercussions such as a small fine, have to take time out of your day and visit the courthouse, public shaming in the newspaper etc..

It’s already illegal. You could even be made to register as a sex offender.

thought u meant drinking while driving. Spin-off spin-off I think you should legally be allowed to drink while driving if you have a .04 BAC or lower.

How are the police going to prove in court that you're "distracted?" sounds like reason for police to pull you over for no reason.

Yeah let's give the police carte blanche to pull over anyone whenever they want under reasonable suspicion of "driving while distracted."

Are we for small government and personal rights on here or not? Bc it seems like that argument only comes up when it fits personal tastes, and the second it doesn't we're all for regulations and an increase in the police state.

I agree with everything but your last entry. Road head has at least some mitigation to road rage.

so as long as you're doing it when you kill the person, you don't really get punished. Because that's what happens with DWI's.... now there's a law that needs to be changed... you get drunk and kill someone it should be same as shooting someone with a gun.

I think that’s already a law in LA.

But the lawmakers at the state capital are the 100% reason Louisiana has been at the bottom of every good list and the top of every naughty list.

They are an abject failure at succeeding at making the state better. So the last thing we need is for them help us more, in any matters.

Good thing my ex would swallow the evidence.
