As people said, All Clad is the way to go. Unless you're looking to step up to copper pots and pans.

I ended up choosing the Williams & Sonoma set over the equivalent All-Clad. Thought they had a more comfortable handle.

I find the private label pots and pans from Williams Sonoma, or Sur la Table to be very good and a good value. I also really like Staub cast iron and have a bunch of pieces. Those are probably my favorite items in my kitchen. I think they're better than Le Creuset.

We have lots of lodge cast iron skillets and big pots. I think we should just fill in around those with all clad sauce pans and other pieces she wants.
