Let's discuss THAT meeting in the series finale of Game of Thrones

So the surviving characters are gathered together to decide the fate of both Jon and Tyrion when they agree to elect a new ruler. As we all know, Bran is chosen by the council of lords and ladies to succeed Cersei to be ruler of the Seven Kingdoms. All of them but Sansa who turns to Bran, professes her love for him, before announcing that the North will be an independent kingdom whether Bran likes it or not. Bran agrees to these terms and so do the other lords and ladies of Westeros.....which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
Knowing the history and personality of these characters, this should have eventually led to another bloody civil war that would have torn the Seven (Six) Kingdoms apart.
Let's take a look at a map:
The Riverlands (House Tully) and the Vale (House Arryn) have both pledged allegiance to the North (House Stark). So it stands to reason that when Sansa asserts her kingdom's independence, House Tully and House Arryn would go independent with her seeing as they have been allies since this shite got started back in season one.
The Iron Islands and Dorne both pledged their allegiance to House Targaryen but the Targaryens are now all gone. Seeing as these two regions are the most independent-minded of the Seven Kingdoms, it stands to reason they should declare their independence, too, as the woman they had sworn allegiance to is now dead. Dorne also has a relatively intact military with easy access to King's Landing. So they can drive their point home if they wanted to as the armies of King's Landing have been devasted by the wars that have overtaken the land these past few years.
Letting the North go - knowing what we know about these characters - should have started a chain reaction that would have led to another civil war in the Seven Kingdoms. But we are led to believe by the writers that everyone just went along with the North leaving and that House Tully and House Arryn decided to remain part of the Six Kingdoms. They all also seem perfectly fine that an outsider is now King. Which, once again, shouldn't jive with these characters.

Yeah like wtf oh we are going to let the North be free but our king will be the Queen in the North’s brother and from the most important house in the North.

That entire scene was one massive jump of the shark.
We start the episode with Greyworm executing soldiers that surrendered, yet when Jon Snow literally kills Dany GW decides to only put him in prison. Nevermind the fact that Jon could have easily gotten away with it all if he just left the scene without telling anyone what happened. He literally had to go up to someone and say "Hey, I killed your queen, you might want to kill or arrest me"
Then GW, presumably the man with the highest authority left in Kings Landing, brings Tyrion to the council and just allows these other people to decide who is King and what to do with his prisoners. It's just beyond comprehension and I don't see how the writers are stupid enough not to see it

In a realistic world, GW would’ve be in charge of unsullied soldiers and Dothraki being that he’s the highest ranking officer. He should’ve killed Jon and Tyrion. That meeting shouldn’t even take place.
Sansa - All she ever does is call out character in front of a group of people. It’s not even a strategic moves. Sick of hearing people saying she’s “playing the game”...”she learned from LF”. She got no moves whatsoever. Her game: act bitchy, stare in space, get rewarded. She told Tyrion “what if there’s a better person”. Did she mean Jon? If so her plan failed. But not Jon than who? Bran? If bran, then why her comment about him can’t have kids when he was proposed as the ruler? She has no plan or game. Things just fall in her lap.
Sam - this no good fat arse. Edd saved his arse from a wight. Then Edd gets killed. What does he do? Avenge Edd? Nope, he runs like a coward. Oh, he’s not a fighter? Then he should’ve sat in the crypt so no one would risk their lives to save his sorry arse. And as Jon’s best friend does he speak up for Jon? Nope. He’s a wilding arse on the side so that’s all he cares because that’s the only arse he can get. bye bye buddy Jon. And how is he given title if grandmaester? Didn’t he quit the citadel and stole a bunch of books?
And why the democracy suggestion? Do we need a joke scene with the characters laughing?
Why bring Edmure back just to have Sansa to tell him to “sit down” and have his sword clank against a pole? Another joke?
Why would a good story be an important qualification to ruler? Why is Tyrion a prisoner allowed to decide the faith of the kingdom? Would Bernie Madoff be allowed to decide investment laws? Would that make sense?
The system in place will only create more war.
And why would drogon destroy the IT? Symbolism? So everybody is too dumb to grasp the symbolism but this dragon, a weapon of mass destruction, gets it? If you believe that, then I got some swamp land for sale.

In the book, the Seven Kingdoms will not exist.
I expect that all of the major houses/regions will become independent and a federation of sorts will be formed.

More than the nonsensical politics, I thought most of the group gathered had no business being up there.
It was like some silly fan fiction that would include Sam, Gendry and Ser Brienne to sit on a post-war council that would decide the fate of a prisoner and who would be the next King.
Even if they had no vote, WTF are they doing up there?

In a realistic world, he died at the Battle of Winterfell on the front line against a charge of a million wights and we never had to deal with his bullshite again.

People overthink this stuff. Look..... Sansa has been pushing for the North’s independence for a while. The rest of them are just glad Cersei and the Mad Queen are gone and have a lot of faith in Bran to lead....... it’s pretty simple if you let it be.

Gendry makes sense because Dany legitimized him and named him Lord of Storms End. So you have Gendry representing the Stormlands, Edmere representing the Riverlands, Yara the Iron Islands (which prior to the events of the show were ruled by the Riverlands), someone from Dorne, Royce and Sweetrobin from the Vale, Sansa and Bran from the North, and no one representing the Reach or the Westerlands (I guess Tyrion?).

Given the circumstances at the end there, the ending that would have made sense would be Grey Worm seizing power and angrily declaring that he would continue Dany's mission to 'free' the world of tyrants. But that would be too ominous for a world that demands rainbows at the end of every story.
