Who had the better double-sided weapon?

Darth Maul in the Phantom Menace
Or Thanos in Endgame?
One killed Liam Neeson and the other broke Cap’s shield.
I would say Maul’s lightsaber because Thanos’ sword, while cool in action, felt shoehorned in. Kind of like a last-second addition to compensate for him not having the gauntlet. Maul’s weapon was also new and gimmicky, but it seemed to make more sense in its universe.
Then again, Maul’s was in a significantly worse movie.
Thoughts?

Maul would have kicked Thanos arse if he did not have the guantlet.
The lightsaber would cut through his sword with ease, not to mention force shite

The double-ended lightsaber is about as idiotic as the Klingon bat'leth as far as functional weapon design goes, so I pick Thanos solely due to the character being further removed from realism so it's easier to accept through suspension of disbelief.

Idk, that sword took Mjolnir, Stormbreaker and all of Iron Man’s laser attacks, including one charged by angry Thor.
It’s pretty tough stuff.

Maul saved the prequels. And he was only in 1.
Think about that.

The force must be strong with Darth Maul, because I'd have chopped my junk off with that thing in 30 seconds.

Maul would wreck Thanos with no Gauntlet

Knife-wrench over all others.

You are a disgrace to the Empire! Shame and dishonor to your house!

Brah, Thanos' sword in Endgame is a clever callback to this wonderful comic book creation:

You must die for that comment.

While cool-looking, Maul's double bladed lightsaber is a training weapon. It's supposed to be the first one Padawans handle in legit combat training. (Not the single blade ones with the blast shield helmets & remotes for the younglings).

Darth Maul was as much a wasted opportunity for greatness as Jon Snow.

There is a YouTube video that shows why Thanos's sword was totally useless.

Thanos for me.
Both are dumb weapons. But he has that Dynasty Warriors commander going for him.

Not to mention he broke the shite out of Cap's supposedly unbreakable shield.
