The Alabama state Senate passed the country’s strictest abortion bill this week in a 25-6 vote ? and as many people noted, all 25 of those “yes” votes came from white male senators.

“These 25 men, who will never be pregnant, just legislated more rights to rapists than to women, girls & victims of rape/incest,” Nahanni Fontaine, a member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba in Canada, tweeted Wednesday alongside an image of the state senators.

But wait...

Last month, the bill passed the Alabama state House in a 74-3 vote. Of the votes in favor of the legislation, seven came from female House members.

This story quickly kills it's own narrative.

They always degrade their potentially legitimate gripes by throwing in race where it doesn't belong

Out of curiosity, does anyone know the makeup of the 6 against from the Senate and the 3 against from the House?

Every post/article I have seen only talks about the 25 white men. This article appears to allude to the fact there are 4 females, but does not say if they voted against or abstained.

Democrats constantly bringing up race in matters that have fricking NOTHING to do with race never ceases to amaze me.

That is the Alabama state senate. Notice anything? Yes 3 women 2 of which are black so likely Ds and the third who knows.

I count 35 members if the vote was 25-6 did some not vote?

Also 28 are white men, 28/35 = 80%; 25/31 = 80% so this is a big non-story...

This is still the dumbest argument against the bill that I've seen. If men aren't able to implement policies that affect women does that mean that women can't vote to implement policies that affect men?
