That's a plot twist?

I thought that was just a normal Wednesday thing.

Great place to train. They let us do some wild shite there, you could just about do anything you wanted in terms of procedures--they needed the help. It was always slammed full of people. Prisoners, crazy, crazy people, weird maladies. The whole place was surreal.

Little Known Trivia. Mariska Hargitay was taken there as a toddler in 1967. Anyone know why?

They still go to UMC....

Also, the plans for redevelopment look pretty cool. It will be nice to see that building cleaned up.

Will probably never happen... The asbestos abatement will cost just as much as the redevelopment...

It's little known that Jayne Mansfield's kids were in the car when she had the fatal accident?

Nah. was a Blonde wig that got throwed off or caught on something. Just Dead. Not decapitated.
Nola article I read a couple years ago and found out Mariska went to charity after the wreck

quote:

he three Mansfield children who were asleep in the back seat of the car -- including a 3-year-old Mariska Hargitay, who years later would star in the TV series "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" -- received what were described as minor injuries in the crash. They were initially taken to Charity Hospital by an unnamed couple, then transferred to Ochsner Foundation Hospital at the request of their father, movie muscleman Mickey Hargitay.

The better trivia from that is it started the push for the metal bar behind 18 wheelers/big trucks. “Mansfield bars” as they’re sometimes called.

My paternal uncle is an OBGYN and he had to do his residency at Charity Hospital New Orleans. He delivered the hell out of some illegitimate black babies. He had some funny stories to tell. He said he now knows how the German army felt on D-Day because they just wouldn’t stop coming and coming.

Know the people well who took the children to Charity. The accident happened out by Chef Pass on Highway 90. It's a pretty tight knit community and back then they could only rely on themselves for emergency services. My Dad's parents were some of the first people to move out to Venetian Isles out there.....my grandfather used to talk about the accident and the frantic action that night....everyone was out there.
