Is Pink Floyd the greatest rock band of all time?

They're undoubtedly Top 10 all time but I think an argument can be made they're the greatest rock band of all time. Led Zeppelin of course can make the same argument. The Beatles can obviously make the same claim. The Rolling Stones to a lesser degree could as well.
Metallica deserves an honorable mention for greatest rock band as they are the greatest metal band of all time in my humble opinion. What say you?

If I hated bands for their ultra liberal stance I'd unfortunately have to boycott most of my favorite bands.
Pink Floyd as a band probably has a liberal anti-US stance but the band as a whole outside of Roger Waters (who is a total socialist sympathizing whack job and an overall miserable ahole btw) doesn't seem to be too bad about spouting their views publically at least.
Whatever crazy political ideas they may have as a band, it's hard to deny they're brilliant musically and easily one of the greatest rock bands of all time.

It's really difficult to say who's the greatest IMO. But they are up there. They did some pretty amazing stuff for their time and the music is timeless.

Floyd is my personal favorite band but I would say The Rolling Stones as the best rock band, though it depends on how broad we define rock I guess.
As for the political stuff that’s Roger Waters and it’s more recent. The Pink Floyd music at their height is mostly personal, where it gets political it’s more about the UK and anti-war because Waters dad was killed in WWII.

I think it’s largely in part to the frequency of spins in High school, but I got burned out on them.
Same goes for Zeppelin, but to a lesser extent. I can still get down to those guys.
