I suppose the logical choice is Stingley. But I believe Apu will make the biggest impact. In the spring game he was unblockable. I know he was facing the second team offensive line, but he dominated those guys. I'm anxious to see what Kardell brings.

Emery/Davis

As great as Stingley should/will be, LSU was missing that stud homerun combo at RB last season they are used to having. Those fellas should fix that

Apu for me. Stingley may be the best CB to ever come through LSU, but LSU hasn’t lacked at DB.

We’ve lacked on the defensive line big time and that’s why we haven’t been in SECG contention in a while.

If Ika can play like a 5 star, then he’ll have the biggest impact.

What makes you think Brooks will have a bigger impact than Ika in year 1?

That’s not in order. But hybrid-backer depth isn’t great

You think? I know they bring the homerun threat to the table, but Clyde and Curry looked good in the spring. May take a little while for them to learn the offense. There's no doubt they both will eventually be the feature backs.

Kardell could really benefit from a RS, especially if he can play but less than 4 games.

Stingley is the rare player who could play offense, defense and special teams. While I don’t see LSU letting him play any offense this year, I do think he returns punts and maybe kicks.

He’s like a really, really good Tradavious White, and White was really good, so that’s saying a lot.

Stingley is one of the more sure thing recruits LSU has ever had. There’s a reason some recruiting sites had him the number one player in the country.

I think we have at least half a dozen who will make major impacts for LSU. In no particular order:

Stingley
Emery
Davis
Ika
Brooks
Palmer

I'm all for Emery hitting the ground running. It was an observation based on things I noticed, not how I want things to be. As far as I am concerned, from a personal stand point, Emery should be the number 1 back from jump. I was just pointing out that Clyde and Curry both played well in the spring. I'm a fan of LSU, and whom ever is the best is the player I want to play. Curry getting passed will be fantastic in my book. I was pointing out how well he played. Not saying who I want to play.

Yeah wasn't trying to be a frick.
the little I saw of curry I didn't like.
I honestly don't even think he will be as good as even darrell Williams.
hope I'm wrong but he just looks way to slow to me and I'm not talking long speed

Ika looked good in the spring game but he has a lot of work to do on his conditioning and getting into playing shape. He will get exhausted with his current excess weight.

I'll let you know in December.

Smart money is on Stingley or Emery. Kardell should see the field but probably sparingly in his freshman season. Palmer is going to be a stud one day, but he's going to have to wait his turn. Ika should see time in the regular rotation immediately and could be the one, but linemen rarely make huge splashes as freshmen. Brooks is an incredible athlete, but between learning a new hybrid position and with the depth on defense, he probably won't get the number of snaps needed to set himself apart. Davis is a monster and you never know, he could easily end up better than Emery. Starks will be great one day but like Palmer he has to wait his turn. That goes for Lee and Jones as well.

Bottom line... We are certainly adding quality depth for 2019 and great starters for the future. But only one of them will be a 3 year starter and star from day one: Stingley! Only if Emery is the second coming of Justin Vincent will someone surpass Stingley for rookie of the year.
