So I went to a bar/cocktail house on Friday night and ordered a bud light and bourbon/sprite for the Mrs. I left the tab open for about 15 minutes before we decided to go then closed it. Total charge was $15 bucks. Left $5 tip for a total of $20.

I check my bank account this morning and there is a $30 charge, a 10$ charge, and another $20 charge.

Looking at their Facebook and yelp reviews apparently this place is known for this.

What are my options here ?

Call the bank and dispute the charges?

It’s on a debit card. One charge is finalized. The other 2 are showing pending

Stop using a debit card so that 3rd parties don’t have direct access to your money.

When they clear, either call the bar for a refund or dispute it with bank. Bank will side with you.

This is why I use a credit card for everything. Just charge back and you’re good. Credit card company takes care of the rest

This is the reason I don’t use debit cards. I understand they’re convenient just too much opportunity for a crook to access my cash.

Divorce seems likely once you find out she bought drinks for the other guy on your tab.

Why not call the bar and ask them about the charges?

Wait and see if the charges that are pending actually go through.

I was over served at a bar last weekend

So I know exactly what you’re going through.

I don't use a debit card but don't you have to enter a pin for every transaction? If so, then either you're an idiot and didn't pay attention to the total or the bartender has your pin.

Unless, I think, your card is a debit/credit card in which case the transactions would be rung up as credit and now you have dispute options.
