Though I knew this game was great at the time, had I known we would go on such a crappy streak against the tide I would’ve appreciated it much more nine years ago. Our defense was on another level that day, it felt like everyone made a big play. Peterson, the Honey Badger, Kelvin Sheppard, Drake Nevis, and Ryan Baker showed out especially.

Our offense was kind of what it always has been for the past twelve or so years, but Rueben Randle at least had a hell of a game. No reason one of our guys can’t do that this year against those bastards with the talent we have at receiver and Joe at QB. The OL just needs to give Burrow just a few seconds extra like our OL did for Lee and Jefferswag that day. Also, I was reminded of how much I freaking hated Marquise Maze. Everyone would focus so much on Julio that sneaky sob would somehow end up open. Good times, and here’s to more great games like that one in the future (hopefully against the Gumps)!

I’ll never forget the DeAngelo Peterson reverse.

Happened right in front of the student section, as many big plays have.

The difference then is they actually had a pair on the line. Hoping experience and Ingram returning drastically improves the OL.

The thing that I remember from this game is Bama being completely stunned by Jefferson running the option.

Like, stunned.

That 2010 team as a whole was so underrated.

We were equalto or better than Bama on both lines in 2010 and 2011 probably even into 2012. Have not been since.

Ryan Baker’s 2010 season was one of the more underrated performances I can remember. Sorta like Eric Alexander in 03.

Drake’s 09 season was kinda like that too. He put up almost identical numbers to his 2010 All SEC year, but didn’t get talked about much.

He did. That kid had talent.
It was probably one of Jefferson's better games as well.
I'll never forget Jarrett Lee's throw to seal the deal. It was clutch. Some folks may have forgetten that Lee was clutch in both the Vol and Gator games but that throw vs Bama was money.

Just as memorable was the Drake Nevis' sack of McElroy in the 4th quarter. I always think of that sack when McElroy is spewing his crap on the SEC network.

The Drake Nevis forced fumble against pretty boy Greg McElwain is one of my favorite LSU plays of all time

Will never forget this one. Nobody gave us a chance after barely being able to move the ball against an average auburn defense the game before. Was a 20 year old student and Was at good ole SHADYS from 12p-12a for it and half the bar was bama fans. We were going at it with them the whole game. They have to drag my blacked out arse out of there that night, all I kept saying was “WE BEAT BAMA I AINT LEAVIN!”

The Reuben Randle crossing route for 6 is one of my favorite plays ever. Whole place was going nuts. Also, the Jarret Lee bomb to Randle to seal it

To be fair... that was Saban worst team at Bama since 2007. After 2010 it’s been dominant city.

He blew Richardson up on his TD right at the goal line.

They got the score but Baker won the war on that one. TR was done after that and him being out really helped LSU down the stretch.

I just want our games to be competitive again. Our talent gap isn't that big, yet the score differential is much bigger now. For us to score them seems like an insane feat while other teams do it somewhat easily.

Back when Miles knew if he wanted to complete a forward pass it was better to have Lee behind center than Jefferson.

Those were fun times. Hopefully we can challenge them like that this year.

Great win. Few notes:
a) I think JJ got hurt and had to leave for a play. JL made a clutch throw. Same play as RR scored on in the 3rd but to the opposite side of the field.

b) Crowton informed JJ at half time that we would open up the O. We did. And lo and behold we scored 21 pts in the 2nd half. Seems like a dream now. Crowton had weaknesses as a coach but he was a fantastic play caller.

c) No mention of Josh Jasper's fake punt? Gives me the smiles every time.
