I know a lot of you are gonna say they are completely different because Sully won a championship 2 years ago, but they are in a much worse situation then we are with 10 SEC wins and hanging on to to their NCAA hopes.
Personally, I think mainieri deserves a couple years to develop the special arms Cain recruited and worry about his job 2 or 3 years down the line if things get this bad again. See what he can do with this talent before we start talking about firing him.

That is insane, you can't be serious!

Less recruited special talent too. He is not developing it any longer. The man has lost his fire and the program has lost it's mystique. Time for a change.

Back to point of OP
I’m sure there’s plenty of bitching, LSU fans just take it to another level
I do not think he needs to be fired but I think his support staff needs some adjustments

Florida fans barely give a shite about their baseball program. Your typical UF fan prob couldn’t name 3 players off that championship winning team from a few years ago. An elite athletic school with a god awful fanbase.

Marinara is bland! Time for a new flavor

The thing is, is that we are in a completely different situation. Florida, by most people and not including many polls, was expected to have a down year. A lot of excellent players were drafted, far more than LSU. Two first round pitchers. They replaced their entire rotation with either weekday starters or bullpen arms. They’re expected to do so much better in the upcoming seasons and there’s a lot of reason to believe that it will happen.
Mainieri has literally the opposite situation. A combination of the number one recruiting class as well as almost all of his players returning. Sure, pitching injuries have done a number on the team, but we should not even be close to this bad. Our hitters have also done so little compared to prior seasons. Daniel Cabrera flashed so much talent to hit any ball to any part of the field but we had no one to develop him, so he’s stuck in the .290s, which by no stretch of the imagination is bad, but he should be hitting at least .320 at this point. The hitters have not been clutch at any point and the defense has been lackluster to say the least, especially the last few games.
A trusted insider on 247 even said that he’d talked to players’ parents, and that to say he lost the team would be an understatement. He’s been bashing players even more lately, never taking accountability. Players notice that, recruits notice it. Mainieri raised this program but if he continues to put no effort into any hire or development, he will put it into the ground. The game has simply passed him up.

That’s because we are LSU and they are not. They won a national title for the first time in school history two years ago. We have been one of the best baseball programs in the country for the last 30 years.
With that comes with a little responsibility. Don’t get mushroom stamped by Arkansas. Don’t lose to Ole Miss. They never beat us in the series. Don’t go .500 against in state schools then get absolutely embarrassed at home to Louisiana Tech.

Had LSU won the CWS last year or not have been shutout by FL in what, 2016... I wouldn't be as ready to fire him as I am right now.
But, will CPM fire coaches like Dunn or Cain to save his job? Les couldn't and he paid the price.

They made it to omaha 4 times in a row. More times than we have since 09 in a 4 year span.
They are in rebuild mode, we aren’t. Post less.

At most Gator baseball games, you don't see many Uf fans

Florida has no baseball history and their fans didn’t even give a shite about the team the year they won it all.
That’s not even apples to oranges..that’s like rubber and oranges.
ETA: Florida was also not preseason number fricking 1 by almost everyone with a functioning brain.

This was supposed to be “the year” for LSU...Florida is going to be loaded in 2020 and 2021. Unlike LSU they’ve also won a natty in the last 10 years.

UF doesn’t have baseball fans
Posted on 5/11/19 at 12:25 am to GeauxTigers_14
You don't see them bitching because they don't care about baseball! Their super regional games last year had less than 1,000 in attendance.

Was Florida pre season #1?

Florida baseball fans hardly exist man.
Even when they were on their run, they hardly had much support.

Are they getting blown out every game? If so then they don’t care about the product being put on the field. I believe in giving everybody a chance , but if you don’t get the job done then you have to go. My opinion, we all have one. And

They were expected to be right above .500
We were preseason #1 or #2 in every poll.
